Breast feeding

Hi girls
Has anyone had a BA and then not been able to breastfeed? I’m scared that the op will affect me being able to breast feed in future.
Hearing from anyone who has/hasn’t been able to would be great.

Hey @charlotte888 and @parrisjade I had my first ba in 2007 and since had another wee boy and I breastfed him with no problems 🙂 xx

Hey Charlotte! I’m a midwife and have looked after loads of women who have successfully breast fed after having a ba 🙂 It just depends on what structures are damaged – its more to do with a gland being damaged that is required for the release of certain hormones for breastfeeding! It is a risk but overall having a BA doesn’t mean for sure you can’t ever breastfeed xxx
