I had my surgery yesterday with Mr Singh. I had a 1pm admission where I was shown to my room and got comfortable. A very nice nurse came to ask me some questions and I had to do a compulsory pregnancy test (so don’t pee before the nurse comes like I did!)
I was last on the list, Mr Singh came to see me around 2pm and made his markings. I was taken down just after 3pm. I was prepped by the anaesthetist and all I remember after that was waking in recovery at around 6:50pm when I asked if it had been done! I was very disoriented from the anaesthetic and the morphine I’d been given. Mr Singh came to see me and asked how I was, he also told me how much he removed but I’ve forgotten. I felt quote sick so I was given an anti sickness injection before being taken back to my room.
Once in my room, I had a much better grip on what was going on, I had and still currently have what I can only describe as cuffs like blood pressure ones around my calves to constantly massage my legs. I was also hooked up to a blood pressure machine and cuff which did that every 15 minutes. Due to how I was feeling and the tightness of my strapping, my oxygen levels were down so I have been on oxygen through my nose all night but I was allowed to remove it this morning.
I had further anti sickness meds at around 10pm last night which did help but the first time I got up for the bathroom did result in one bout of sickness.
I slept on and off through the night and the nurses have been brilliant. I’ve had a cup of tea this morning and I will try to eat something soon.
As for my surgery results so far, I can only see a little but I can see a significant difference in my breast size, a weight literally off my chest! They seem so small to me which is a new concept and as it stands, I still have nipple sensation.
