    Hi girls

    I’m 10po & was wondering if anyone changed into a Calvin Klein sports bra & is it safe to do so at this point? My Macom is aggravating me at the moment especially been at a very itchy stage & my M&S sports bra is just to tight (wrong size)

    They have zero support so probably not a good idea at the moment x

    Thanks Hun I didn’t think they did so I’ve put my Macom over the top for the support, it’s made it a bit more comfortable because it’s now not rubbing on my skin x

    They are fine to wear and is actually the post op bra my surgeon recommends. X

    Hey ur best to consult ur surgeon as each has their preferred post op bra. My surgeon doesn’t like overly supportive/compression style bras (macom) and reccomended I wore a calvin klein style crop top and didn’t have macoms at all.

    I’m 14 weeks post op and I only bought a wired bra around week 8/9. I sleep in a tight sports bra and alternate between scrop tops and the wired non push up bras.

    My boobs are still perky and have dropped and fluffed nicely.

    Hiya @Rececca I got a 34DD Hun x

    @imogen
    really?? I’m dying to take my Macom off even just for a day for a break, I feel really comfortable in my Calvin x

    @fran
    do you reckon I’d be able to alternate between my Calvin throughout the day & M&S sports bra for the night? I’m not going to wear my Macom no more as it’s really making me sore & I’m really itchy too through healing, I’m there to see my nurse Wednesday Hun so I’m going to ask her about it x

    Hey hun theres no harm in asking ur nurse and seeing what she says. Itching is a good sign shows ur skin is stretching and healing well! Like I said all surgeons are different and I was shocked when mine had on her paperwork that she prefers crop top style bras post op because I thought compression style bras were sort of compulsory.

    I looked at vlogs online from America and Australia and many women had basic crop tops post op too. I guess each surgeon has their own preferred way to heal which may conflict totally with anothers. For example my surgeon doesn’t use drains or strapping either. Fx

    Thank you @fran I always love your advice 🙂

    I’m definitely going to ask my nurse it would be great if I could. I normally put my Calvin on when I’m taking a shallow bath as I can’t shower yet & wear it for an hour or so just to give myself a break from the Macom, only started doing it the last couple of days. It’s so strange how all surgeons do things differently but yet we all receive the same results. Mr Traynor doesn’t use strapping or drains either which I’m very great full for as some lasses are having a very tough time bless them 🙁 mine are starting to soften a little now, don’t think they have started dropping. I don’t know! So I don’t want to mess too much with my healing process. The itching is driving me crazy lol but I’m happy it’s all good x

    No problem ur welcome hun and thanks! I found rinsing a flannel in cold water and just resting/wiping it on my boobs helped to ease the itching.

    Ur right about the advice it’s all so different at times and can get confusing as u don’t want to do anything wrong/damage ur girls healing.

    My surgeon advised to buy a crop top a band or two sizes bigger for swelling and it was so comfy. I only felt the usual arm discomfort I didn’t have any pressure issues on my chest at all (apart from how they feel when u first wake up)

    I think my surgeon feels tht not compressing them really tightly post op, helps them to settle naturally and stops them being squeezed on the chest wall/body.

    I’m in bras/crop top/sports bras 24/7! I really didn’t think it would be this way and longed to have them out free but when I do they still feel kind of heavy on a night out so I limit myself! But it’s so important to keep them supported fully especially in the first year. Fxx

    It is very confusing especially when one gets told differently to others yet we all kind of have the same :-/ I’ve been told by my nurse I’m not allowed to get my boobs wet at all even been told to wrap my ice packs inside a plastic bag & then inside a towel so I don’t get moisture on them! The nurse has put iodine gauges on my incisions because they were still leaking a bit so that’s maybe why but that really shouldn’t effect the top of the boobs but I’ll just have to listen! I get what you are saying about the weight. They feel so weirded hanging out lol without support & I’m only 12dpo so very early days for me atm. I don’t really have any pain at all, odd twinge now & then & morning boob but fine otherwise x
