After researching for over 5 years I was booked to have my BA in November 2019. Last minute after suffering terrible nerves about having it done and all the things that could go wrong I cancelled the day before! I immediately regretted not doing it but got on with life. This last year I started thinking its now or never. I seen a lovely surgeon (not Mya I’m in Scotland) and was booked for 15th November. I didn’t suffer the same nerves at all as I knew I really wanted it this time.
I got dropped at 6.30am on Monday and felt really calm, shown to my room where I was until nurse came at 7 and done some paperwork. 7.40 the surgeon and nurse came in. He was so nice and reassured me it would all be fine and asked my concerns. I was really more concerned about the pain when I woke up and afterwards and he said it won’t be as bad as you think and we will make sure you have all the pain relief you need. At 8.10 I was walked down to theatre and met with the anaesthetist and nurse who were lovely and I hopped on the bed. The cannula in my hand was less painful than a blood test and only felt a scratch for a second. They then put a syringe of clear liquid in and said this is the gin and tonic 🤣. A couple of seconds later she put the oxygen mask on and told me to put my hand with the cannula on my chest and thats the last I remember. I felt and though I shut my eyes and opened them and was in recovery being told it was all over and everything went well. I couldn’t believe I had finally done it after all these years. I felt slightly tight but absolutely fine. I was back in my room at 10.30 texting my family and spent the next few hours sleeping on and off. The toast and tea I was given looked amazing but only managed ½ a slice. I was able to get out of bed myself and go to the bathroom about 12 by myself although I did ring for a nurse as was worried I would be lightheaded but absolutely fine .
I had a lovely lunch about 2pm and lots of drinks and after seeing the surgeon was good to go home at 4.30. I dressed myself and went home.
I was a 34AA, I had 325 mod plus extra dual plane. That night I had lots of swelling and they look like guys pecs not boobs 🤣. I have only took paracetamol and the odd ibuprofen and have slept ok with a few spells awake. 1 dpo was fine and I think I slightly over done it making dinner, doing a washing and going to the shops! My evening I did feel more bruised and swollen but still manageable. Today 2dpo I woke up stiff so too my paracetamol and went back to sleep for an hour and woke up feeling much better. I’ve been for a shower and was able to wash my own hair and change from macom into M&S bra.
If this is what you want please know I’m the biggest woose and I would actually go as far as saying the op day was enjoyable .
Feel free to ask anything and will post photos later.
