Hi girlies, I love this forum and have been dead keen to get an appointment with MYA, but is the Cardiff or Birmingham clinic just a clinic not a hospital??? The hospitals that I have seen on the mya website are all easily 3 hours from me and I don’t want that kind of journey to travel home following the op ????
Did anyone visit the hospital group? Or know anyone that has? I can’t find any kind of forum for them like this one. Any help gratefully received ????

Sorry I can’t help with your question regarding clinics, however, I do
Think 3 hours is prob too far. You’ll need to meet your PC, then your surgeon, then if you book surgeon once more for pre op and then a separate appointment for MRSA screening and preliminary bloods.

Also 7 days after the procedure you’ll have a nurse appointment to remove dressings etc, then have a follow up with the surgeon once or twice after that. I’m only 1.5 hours from London but the two appointments so far are a ball ache and I’ve got 2 more before op day. Expensive on the train too! Try to pick the clinic that’s closest to you.x

Thanks Hun, the Cardiff clinic is just over an hour for me and would have my consultations there I believe and I thought my aftercare appointments (although I’m not certain of that) but I just didn’t want a three hour journey home after the op ????, but I love all the results I’m seeing from mya. I’m seeing the consultant at the hospital group in a few weeks and have a friend that has used them but I’d love to find a forum like this for some advice and reviews. Xx

I live in just outside newcastle and travelled just under 3 hours to Preston for my surgery (but my consultations, pre-op and post care appointments have all been in newcastle) i felt it was worth the journey, i have a spire hospital 5 minutes walk from my house so could have saved allot of money and hassle had i used them as i needed 2 nights in a hotel (night before as admission was 8am and op night as i couldn’t have done the 3 hour journey) but i have no regrets whatsoever i knew i wanted to use a particular surgeon, also the Newcastle clinic and all the staff are fantastic so i would advise asking for honest reviews on the Cardiff clinic as that is where all of your appointments would be xxx

I live Durham near Newcastle so all my clinic appointments were in Newcastle which still takes me around an hour drive. My surgery was in Preston yesterday, my mam didn’t want to be away from home for two nights so we travelled down yesterday morning at 5am. Took around 2.5 hrs. Wasn’t too bad actually. We stayed overnight last night and going to travel back today once rush hour has settled. Not looking forward to the journey back to be honest but I knew I wanted Mr traynor to do my surgery. As Claudine said there was places closer to me but I knew what I wanted. Staying overnight on the day of surgery has really helped xx

Hi Hun. Congrats for yesterday! How are you feeling? What did you have? I have seen great results from mr traynor, does he work out of all of the hospitals? Just non-fri or weekends also? I have two little kiddies so ideally I’d rather not stay away but as you say, the results are super important! Safe journey back today! X

I’m back home now. The drive wasn’t too bad actually. I put a v pillow between the seat belt so it didn’t dig in too much. I had 375cc partials, his under the muscle implants are partials. Feeling quite sore today but to be expected. Struggling with certain arm movements. I’m sure he does weekends aswell. I’m not sure about all hospitals, got a feeling he might just be Preston first trust hospital xx

Hun I live i Carmarthen about 1 hour 40 mins from Cardiff and it’s honestly not too bad. I’ve been to Cardiff twice so far. Once do my initial consultation and then again when I made sure I arranged to meet the surgeon and have pre op same day to save travel. I don’t need to go there again until after my op for my aftercare but it’s only a couple more visits. My op is in London which is about 4 hours from me, but I’m going up the day before with my boyfriend and he is driving me back the morning after my op. It is far, but it’s only for the one trip and if you make it into a mini break it doesn’t seem as bad 🙂 xx

Cardiff is my nearest @2 hours drive.
I had my op in London – 4.5 hour drive home – wasn’t so bad, the hospital dosed me up with anti sickness tablets and a jab in my bum and I slept most of the way home.
