Chaperone

Does anyone know why we need one? I’m bring dropped off and picked up but why does someone have to come and stay with me?

I’m going to Doncaster too and was told my boyfriend doesn’t need to stay the whole day (he’s easily bored) but has to take me home. I just thought they didn’t want you travelling alone after surgery. Xo

You need a chaperone to take in all the information they give you if you are too drowsy to think strait and to help you out of the hospital You will also need someone there when you get home for sure! I’d be lost without my hubby. You need to rest as much as possible but just silly things like getting dressed, going to the toilet and getting out of bed I’ve needed help with. Xx

Hubby’s collecting me and got the following week off just seemed a bit excessive for a day case x

Hey babe I was at Doncaster yesterday and I was so sleepy after. I couldn’t manage getting dressed or going to loo without my partner. Long drive home for us with bad weather and he’s been my rock through night for going to loo etc. Can’t flush the toilet haha. Feeling better today but know I have to take it easy. Xxx

I was in surgery for about 45 mins and when I woke up they were putting my thick socks and joggers bottoms on me. I really struggled to keep my eyes open though. I was so tired for a good few hours after was just in and out of sleep. They kept feeding me toast and water. But the tiredness was my onky issue lol. You’ll be absolutely fine. Staff are amazing there. Xxx

Sorry to be majorly morbid I was at Doncaster too but you need a chaperone in the case of any operation because if anything bad goes wrong surely you would want one of your nearest dearest to be at your side.

Ah Amy I always look on the positives u see. I’ve had day surgery before and never had anyone with me , infact u weren’t allowed anyone. X

Think Mya like you to have someone there. To be honest I was in and out in no time so my husband didn’t have time to get fed up and there was tv in room. Think also if you needed anything like water or toilet you need a bit of a hand. I was only in the natural look clinic 4 hours in total and 2 of those I was in theatre. So they really don’t have you waiting about there. And there is only 4 rooms so it’s very personal and the staff are fab x

Don’t mind questions at all hun. I had to be there 9:30 was greeted by Roweena who is fab. She showed me to my room asked me to do a urine sample in the bathroom so she could test I was pregnant. Then the anesnatist came explain what she was gonna do and ask me to sign that I agreed. Then the nurse came took blood pressure and temp. Then I put on gown and those oh so sexy stockings! Then Mr kazzazi came had a chat made me sign for a agreeing the risks and the size etc and he drew on me and took some photos. Then at 10:10 I was took to theatre. I laid on the bed they hooked me up to monitors put me a canular in. Last thing I remeber is Mr kazzazi coming throw the doors and I must of just smiled at him. Next thing at 12 I got off the table helped by the nurses sat in a wheelchair and was taken to my room. I must of drifted asleep for 20 minutes then woke up had some toast and water. The nurse came in took my blood pressure then my husband helped me get dressed. And by 1:30ish I was on my way home. Was home 2:30 then 3:30 my 3 daughters came home. And I felt fine just tired. I even insisted on my husband going to his works Xmas do that night. Just like child birth I would do it all over again as its well worth it for what you get out of it x
