Colds

I feel like I may be catching a cold op is coming up will I still be ok to have it??? Anyone been ill and still had their ba?

Hi I went all the way to have my surgery on the 20th of feb at the Highgate hospital ( I’m not with Mya) and my op was cancelled as I had a high temp and a cold.THe nurse and anesthetis said no as I could get sepsis or have further complications while being under and it was too dangerous! I’m re booked in for Thursday coming 23rd so I’ve been staying away from anyone with even a cough as I’m not going through all that again!! When are you due for your op? Xx

Oh no that must of been horrible for you. I just feel a bit sniffel: ears popping and a tickelling throat it’s on the 27th so almost a week away I’d love to just hide away from all signs of life and germs til then but I have three little ones who bring all sorts of lovely viruses home 🙁 good luck for Thursday hope all goes well for you this time ! I had a stinking cold before my op … just get those lemsips down u and rest to get rid. As long as you don’t have a temp the day of your op you should be fine x

I know it’s hard to try no stay away from germs with children as I have two little ones myself!! Like Stacey said have some lemsips and try to stay clear of poorly people lol! Thank you I hope you start to feel a bit better soon ???? X

My husband got a cold a week before my op and I felt like I was getting it but I bought some first defence (it’s a nasal spray to stop the cold) it worked a treat I didn’t get ill at all!

I had a cold before my op and took cold remedies and ibruprofen upto the op date and was a little sniffly on the day but luckily my chest was clear and I told them upfront I was st the end of my cold and I had to just have my temp checked and I was ok to go ahead x think sometimes we’re worrying so much that we will get a cold it happens lol x hope your ok to go ahead and good luck to you all xx
