Hey,
This isn’t a rant but more asking for info.
My surgery was put back and I was messed around a little. The only time I can book back in is 5 months away. I was advised by my PC that I would get some compensation. I sent over my bank details as requested 14days ago. Still nothing received so I sent another email asking to advise. My PC always seems to be the last person to know anything and I do find myself having to keep chasing up after I’ve left emails and phone messages. Wonder if I can speak to anyone in the HR/finance department myself? I’ve paid for my op all ready in full.
Apparently The team in Head Office have advised with previous patients affected that the compensation is refunded following the surgery date. (Mine was moved from march to July)
Seems a bit backwards getting your compensation AFTER the surgery. So I have to wait maybe 5 months.
Anyone else had similar when it comes to claiming compensation?
Thanks in advance.

Hi gem I had loads of messing around kind you, the list didn’t end! I think I lost a stone before my surgery I stress alone! For mine they took it off my finance plan, which I knew they would do instead of giving me it direct, doesn’t help when you’ve lost money from 3 hotel changes that you’ve lost! They should just give you direct if you have paid in full but it won’t be as simple as that with them as I can imagine @gemma xxx
Hey,
I’ve paid all mine in full. No finance just paid off the full balance from my bank. Just don’t see why it’s after surgery? Especially with my op so far away now. My PC did say given the fact ive have had to push surgery date back She was requesting that it gets actioned ahead of my new procedure date.
I do feel like things get said just to get me off their back. How long do I wait now? Another 2 weeks? I know what the PC is there for but it feels likes you may as well go higher up as they have to go through a few channels themselves which seems to take a decade! So much easier and you’d get a straight answer if you spoke with HR and the people who issue refunds etc…
Xx
Hey hun sorry to hear this I reckon your best bet is to find out who is managing the clinic you have attended and get contact details for HR. I reckon you are better off just dealing directly with head office as they will be responsible for issuing your refund and any complaints you have concerning your case.
Contacting the manager of the branch and getting their details as well as making them aware means you can include them on emails and able to inform you quicker plus take accountability.
It will get sorted try to remain calm and note down all conversations you have and email exchange plus reciepts for hotels and travel etc. Hope that helps fx
Thanks Fran, sounds like a good idea. I’ll be in touch with my clinic manager tomorrow and see if she’s in. I do have a number from someone called Jade who i believe maybe from the HR side of things. She issued me with some compensation a month ago after something else happened with my dates. She rang from a harrogate number. Funny because at that time I hadn’t paid my balance just a deposit so they knocked it off my bill. Now I’ve paid it all off it’s like pulling teeth to get something back. Xx
I know the feeling about constantly chasing them! Your definitely best doing what Fran said and trying that xx
Ur welcome babe I know it’s a pain but I think it’s easier dealing with management to formalise the situation and also it’s what they get paid for!!
I’m sure ur pc is doing all she can but it’s all most likely second hand to hear and the management will know in advance plus they’ll know the refunding proceedure ins and outs and loop holes like the back of their hand. The main objective is to secure your funds back at an earlier date and you just want it confirmed and agreed at a more reasonable date if possible.
If I were you I would request or have a read through the contract you signed and see what it says. You could also ask them to refund the balance earlier as a gesture of goodwill considering you have waited for a long time (obviously I don’t know your personal circumstances but whatever reason it was for cancelling the other times you could bring that up also).
It’s clear you still want to go with Mya despite these setbacks so stress that to them. Fxx
