I had my op 1 week and 4 days ago. I had over and I’m recovering really well… My stitches have all dissolved (just need to go back next week and get the others trimmed) -also no idea what this means? Does that mean getting them out?

But I’m really unsure on the following:

    – Am I allowed to have a full bath now and lie down in it (with the other stitches still in)?

    – Do I still have to sleep on my back? Its so uncomfortable!

    – I feel like I could comfortably go to the gym and do light cycling on the bike? Is this a bad idea?

    – When can I drive?

Thank you in advance for any replies!!! xxx

I am 1wk 4 dys PO too and at my 1 week check up they told me I can
Have normal showers as long as I don’t get any chemical products on the incisions
Sleep on my back/side as long as I am comfortable, not on your front though obviously
Drive as long as I can do an emergency stop
    Not sure about gym/exercise xx

Ok thanks girlies! So annoying about the baths, I really fancy a nice long soak haha!
When you’re in the shower do you like wash them properly lol? Im scared to go anywhere near the incisions?
Do you still have some of the proper stitches left in?
Ok fab I think I’ll start driving on Tuesday maybe. Thats almost two weeks after I suppose…

I was told at my two week appointment when I had my stitches trimmed ( literally the long part that’s left hanging out is cut down ) that I could shower and let the water run over my boobs but not to soak them directly with the shower, I was only allowed to use a baby wash also but not on the incisions. Exercise you have to wait until 6 weeks PO, you can drive at 2 weeks PO, and sleep on your back or side with a pillow underneath to support you if you feel uncomfortable. No sleeping on your front. Hope that helps 🙂 xx

Thanks Clairabell, so what happens to the rest of the stitch in the incision? Do they not pull it out? I’m so confused about these stitches haha xxx

It just desolves under your skin 🙂 it’s only the bit that needs trimmed by the nurse that wouldn’t desolves as it’s on the outside of your body xx

I could drive at one week and was back in the gym at 3 weeks, lower body only. Now 12 weeks and it doesn’t even feel like I had new boobs anymore they are just part of me 🙂
