Contraceptive pill

Hi girls, just wondering if any of you were told to stop taking your pill the few weeks before surgery.
I’m having mine on the 8th April and my surgeon has told me to stop taking my pills from now until after surgery when he gives me the go ahead to resume taking it. It’s going to really mess me up stopping it now ???? X

Hiya-
I was advised to stop taking my pill- but I have been on my pil continuosult for years- and had no periods since- so I asked my surgeon and he gave me the clear.
I continued to take my pill, however- the mess you’re on can completely override your pill & I actually bled for the first time in years post op, exactly what I wanted to avoid!!!
That being said the day I came off the anti biotics. I was back to normal cycle ( or lack of!)

Ah thanks for getting back so quick Laura- I really don’t want to come on either tbh, it will really mess me up but I guess being on the antibiotics will have done that anyway.. how long are you on antibiotics for?x
