Contraceptive pill

Has anyone been told to carry on taking there contraceptive pill or to stop taking it? Just curios as read a post where someone said they were advised to stop taking theirs.

I was told to carry on taking it?

So confused now and my op is next Saturday 26th

Hi louise mya info i recieved when i booked op advise you to stop taking it 4 weeks before op due to dvt risk so ive come off for my op in september x

Might depend which type of pill you are on, combined pill or mini pill.
I have a mirena coil which is progesterone only (same as the mini pill) and won’t have it out for the op but the combined pill (3 weeks taking/ 1 week off) is different hormones and has a DVT risk generally so id say check out according to your pill type x

I’m on Cilest mini pill (think that’s how you spell it? What’s dvt risk ?

I carried on taking my contraceptive pill but for medical reasons due to my PCOS. I would let them know you are currently taking the pill which they may ask you too stop or you may be able to carry on depending on which one you take! If they have said you can carry on I would take it as normal 🙂 xxx

I take cilest. I had my op on Thursday and was never told to stop taking it. I think it depends on each individual person xx

I’m on loestrin 30 and have been told to stop taking it 4wks before x

I’m on rigevidon and have been told to stop taking it two weeks before surgery xx

Yay someone else taking the same….???? Was told to take it with me but will double check tomorrow …. the amount of things you can/can’t do is a nightmare plus when your scared about surgery it’s like you forget what you’ve been told as got a thousand thoughts running through your head lol
