Contraceptive pill?

I have a feeling surgion told me to stop taking it but forgot and took it this morning , my op is in like 3 weeks should I stop now? Cx

Yes you do need to stop taking the pill, it thins your blood which can cause complications during surgery, it’s usually 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after you don;t take it x

Yeah you have to stop taking it 2 weeks before and can’t retake it until 2 weeks after to prevent DVT xx

Oh I’m on the mini pill cizerette maybe that why they didnt mention it as I don’t have a break with my pill I have to take it everyday because have dvt in my family x

I have to take mine every day too they have me it after I had a baby xx

Yeah ill give mine a ring Monday as nurse didn’t really mention much to be honest she seemed really young x

It depends on your surgeon. I have Dr Singh and he said I can keep taking it… I’m on mini pill cerazette too and he says it’s fine to continue with. My nurse and PC also all said I don’t have to stop. xxx
