Hi girls, another question – sorry ?…

A few years ago (I’m 25) my dad suddenly got very ill and long story cut short it caused me to get anxiety and panic attacks for a short while. I went to my doctors and got some CBT therapy and since then I’ve had 2 courses of it. I’ve been all fine for about 3 years now – no more panic attacks but when MYA write to get my medical history is this something that’s going to cause a problem? I didn’t declare it on any of my forms and I’m worried it will make me look like I’m not in a fit mental state – which I 100% am xx

Hi @leannekelsall I don’t think this will be a problem at all. I think this is what the nurse assessment before surgery is for to make sure you are 100% fit and well and in a clear mental state.
try not to worry too much. if for any reason they do have concerns they will call and discuss xx

    +1

Hi Leanne 3 years ago I had a car accident which fortunately I was physically well apart from whiplash. But it left me mentally messed up to the point where I cried constantly in car as a passenger( at this point I didn’t drive). I too had cbt and it gave me the confidence to learn to drive. It didn’t effect my gp’s note for surgery.
The main things they look for is anything that would affect you during surgery such as heart conditions any thing that could affect healing. Mental health I am not sure what they look for possibly eating disorders etc
    Don’t worry x

Don’t worry about it. I am on antidepressants and I was absolutely fine with no problems 🙂 xxx
