Couple of questions?

Hi girls. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I’m having my BA two weeks today and im wondering do I need to stop my pill at any time? I’m really confused. Also did you take laxatives? And i know it says it’s advisable not to drink or smoke two weeks prior and post, did anyone drink and smoke through this period? X

Hi hun. My op is 23rd jan. You are supposed to stop your pill and alcohol two weeks before as it thins your blood. I dont smoke so not sure about that.
Once tonight is out the way im not drinking and will come off my pill shortly xxx

Hi hun, i asked the nurse this and she said i had to stop taking the pill 2 weeks before my surgery date, then start taking it again 2 weeks after my surgery date. the last drink i had was 13 days before my surgery. i dont smoke but i think they recommend you stop if possible. maybe give your nurse a call to double check, or ask at your pre op assessment if you havent already had it. i bought some laxatives but turned out i didnt actually need them 🙂 however, some girls on here did need to take some, so buy some anyway so that you have some to hand 🙂 xxxxxx

Come off the pill 2 weeks before the op and stay off for two weeks after the op. It’s important as the pill can cause blood clots.
