Cutting through old scar??

Hi ladies, i just wondered if anyone had an idea about this, i had my first BA last year and i had a revision a week and a half ago, i notice my scars look 10x better than they did last time, they healed quite thick last time an this time its just a hair line that is already nearly faded so my question is, do they cut around the old scar to sort of cut it out or do they just cut through it? Xx
