Hi girls had my op yesterday. Firstly I didn’t get it done with mya. I went to a lovely private hospital and cannot rate my surgeon and nurses enough.
Admitted at 6.15 and op was at 9.30 I came out at 12. I think this is longer than mya surgeons but my surgeon checks all my internal tissue. So I was fine with longer.
Anyway walked down to theatre and freaked out! Lovely people calmed me down! And before I knew it I was awake again!!
Back down the ward which I had totally by myself and 5 personal nurses solely for me!
My body doesn’t quite agree with anaesthetic so I took a while to come round! Had tea and a shortbread and threw the lot up. Then they made me toast and gave me morphine. That knocked me out again! Then they made me cheese and tomato sandwiches with crisps. I lost my appetite completely but the staff were amazing. About 6 I was taken to my car and left to go home.
Slept well for 3 hours at a time, best thing to do is keep yourself topped up on pain killers. In all honesty I haven’t had much pain, but s fair bit of swelling. But it’s easier to keep the pain at bay rather than waiting for it to come and then trying to get rid.
So far I’m on day one and coping ok keeping the pain away.
I don’t think you realise just how much you use your arms! I can’t even pull my knickers down to go to the toilet. Dignity out the window lol!
Just make sure you have someone with you at all times!
I had 360cc overs which were placed sub fascia to offer more protection xxxxxx
