Day patient or over night stay?

Another question girls .. Have any of you been a day patient at highgate? Or do you think staying over night is better to do? Xxx

MYA will advise what you should do – Basically if you live more than an hour away from the hospital they advise that you stay in overnight. I was about an hour away and I was a day case and was absolutely fine to go home same day 🙂 xxxx

Yeah okay I see .. I live in Cardiff so atleast a 3 hour drive but my sister in law & best mate live close by so I was thinking I would go in as a day case then just stay in london over night but not in the hospital 🙂 but like you say if im going to feel okay to leavee after the op then I think il try and just be a day case!xxx

If u can stay somewhere within 1 hour of hosp then I would go for the day case as it is £* cheaper!!!

I live over 2 hours from hosp and had no1 that cud stay in hotel close by eoth me so had to pay the extra to be an overnight stay.

Laura can I ask are you a straight ba or uplift?

I was never given the option of being a day patient. I live in Bristol so two hours to Highgate but have to stay overnight.

dunno y they have blanked that out. its 600 pounds cheaper it should say.

i was supposed to be a day case but they ended up keeping me overnight to monitor me! At no extra cost!
Im so glad i did stay because they look after you so well and its so comfortable x

That’s good to know that if you do need to stay overnight they let you! I’m just going to do a day case surgery I think tbh I don’t want to spend the night in a hospital on my own without my partner lol as silly as that sounds!! :p hospitals freak me out ha ha xx
