I am going forward with having a breast enlargment but am wondering wether to opt for day surgery and go home afterwards? does anyone have any feedback on wether they think i should stay overnight at the hospital after the operation? can anyone tell me exactly the care you got at the hospital and did you benefit from it? also anyone who had the enlargment and went home after, how was it and would you have stayed in hospital now looking back????
PLease give me some advice
hi louisa
i had my op on 1st april at the manchester lifestyle clinic. i chose to take an overnight stay and im so glad i did !! i had my own room with tv/bed/bathroom etc visitors could come before 9pm. dinner and breakfast were brought in to me. but what i found the most beneficial was having a nurse on hand until i was discharged the following morning. id never had an op or anasthetic before so i thought it would be best to opt in for the overnight stay and all throughout the night i had a nurse coming in checking my blood pressure giving me my medication and going out of her way to ensure i had the best of comfort. this for me helped the recovery process. when is ur op ? good luck with it xx
hi roxi,
thanx so much for ur feedback thats really helpful. im not having it for a few months, i have had my consultation and now waiting to see the surgeon. i was just wondering wether to opt for day because of the 400 cost difference but i suppose by the sounds of it you get constant care by proffesionals and is worth the money.how are you recovering from yours and are you pleased with the outcome?! xx
no problem
i get wot u mean about the money difference. i just didnt want to chance going back home as i live about an hour away from the manchester clinic and the place i had my consultations etc. its up to u really, but they do take real good care of you!! im doing well thankyou. the first few days were abit hard i was only a AA to start with and id say im around a C now so as it was quite a stretch i felt a fair bit of discomfort. not much pain though. the medication really eased the feeling though also wen i felt able to walk about i felt this helped. but it will be a week tomorrow since the op and im doing great allready. i get my dressings changed tommorow. im extremely pleased with the results. i had mine under the muscle so they wer slightly high up the first day or 2 and really swollen but allready ther lookin so in proportion and id say quite natural. i was quite worried about the outcome also about after i had had the op at home and how i would feel. but i can honestly say its one of the best decisions ive ever made…definitley worth a few days discomfort!!! xxxx
im AA too i actually hate them so im def going through with the surgery. i think i wil stay overnight seems best but would like to hear from someone who had the day surgery and went home to hear about their experiences.Do they look as big as u wanted them? i imagine a C to be medium size or am i wrong???x
I had a day case, as I live quite close to the hospital and didn’t want to pay
i hated mine too hunni thats why i went through with it! its not asif i were small i had completely nothing it felt. i had 300c and the surgeon ensured me that it would make enough difference and i feet it did. im only around a size 6 tho height 5,5 so i decided to take his advice. if id gone any bigger they may of looked way to out of proportion. i feel they are big enough for me but its whatever you feels best. i havent been meausred properly yet so i could be slightly smaller/bigger than what im assuming. dont rush deciding though to be honest i didnt really fully make mine untill the day of the op when the surgeon came in to talk me through the progress. have you tried implants out with your PC yet? xxx
hi ya MYA2009, thank u for ur feedback thats very useful, im so excited now i cant wait just want them done now! im a measly 32aa and absolutely hate them! wanted them done for years, dunno what size to go to yet prob big C D, but not too sure yet. u where quite big to start wth and now they must be huge! id love huge ones but fear they will look silly. im size 8/10 5’9 so want whatever suits my build. Thanx again for your advice xxx
to roxii,
no i am going to try them out at end of the month so fingers crossed! i want them done now!
im so in patient especially after talking to you guys!

Hi Louisa,I had a day stay at the manchester clinic aswell, had my op done at 11 am and was discharged at 7 pm.I felt alright to be honest, the effect of the anaesthetic went away before i left the hospital,i live 20 min away from the hospital so they say it should be fine, but if you live further i think you should stay.I had my boyfriend with me all the time so i was looked after at home.
About your bra size,i was a 34 A,small B and i had 525 implants on my left boob and 460 on my right one coz of the assimetry and i am now a 34 D/DD,I am also a size 8 and believe me they look normal and in proportion to my body frame, they dont look massive or fake. After the surgery they were so swollen and i thought i would look really fake, but after the swelling was gone, they looked just right ,sometimes i think i i wish i could have gone a bit bigger coz i had it done under the muscle and they say it reduces a 15% of the size ,so dont be afraid they will look silly.I hope this helps a bit and good luck xx 😉
hi ya chocolaerotica!
thank u for ur feedback that is really helpful. i do want them big but was not sure how big to go but you have really helped me. i think it will be done under the muscle because im so flat chested so maybe i will go that little bit bigger. i am very slim mayb slightly under weight but having this done will change me completley, give me some confidence.
thanx again i will keep you posted on what i decide!
