My surgery is in less than 2 weeks eek! however i need some help about whether you stay over night or not? I’m having my pre-op with the nurse tomorrow, and I’m wondering whether she will give me a choice or is it just given to you? i REALLY don’t want to stay over night as i’ve had to stay overnight at a hospital before and it was so so horrible 🙁
I live an hour away from the London clinic too, but i have my boyfriend who will be able to take me etc.

Also i’m new to the forum so add me if you want 🙂

I was given the option when I booked as it’s more expensive to stay overnight? I was just a day case and was completely fine to go home the same day, with a 2.5 hour drive!
If you’re anything like how I was I just wanted to sleep in my own bed!
Good luck for your op 🙂 xx

I booked a night stay but I ended up going home the same day cos I felt fine and just wanted my own bed 🙂 some people like to feel safe with nurses there for the first night but I was fine, took me an hour to get home kind of uncomfortable in the car but the next day I was in more pain so I’m glad I went home when I did xxx

I had a day case tbh I would get the days case because when your there all you want is your own bed and if they feel somethings wrong or your not your self they keep you in plus it’s like £500 extra to stay I went home and I had a 3 hour drive from London to Birmingham and I didn’t care as I just wanted my bed xx

I had my pre-op today and asked the nurse about this. She recommended to stay overnight near the hospital at least and not to go home the same day but so many people have said they just wanted to go home Im not sure what to do either mine would require a 2 and a half hour train or coach journey xx

My nurse said go for day case, and if they have any of concerns, they will keep you over night free of charge if you experience problems there’s no point paying for an over night if u don’t need it x

I stayed overnight and even though I paid more I’m glad I did, I felt fine a few hours after surgery but I woke up at about 4am in so much pain so I’m glad there was nurses around to help me and give me pain relief xx

Thank you girls! I’m going to see the nurse today so i will double check with her. However i have already paid for my whole procedure so i’m unsure if they can still even charge me?xx
