Days Off

Hi Girls

How many days off did you take before you came back to work? Did you tell at work you had an operation. I think I don’t want to say no one, but I am thinking if they will notice some difference or not.

I’ve had my operation yesterday and have booked a week off of work but told them I needed time off either way because I’m having an operation… I didn’t tell them what I was having done though as that’s my decision. When I got a letter from MYA saying I needed a certain amount of time off as well, I told them not to include what I was having or any mention of MYA and they didn’t.
Really you should tell you work as they should know just in case anything happens to you or there are certain things you shouldn’t be doing.

Hi 🙂 what kind of job do you do? It all depends on that and how quickly you recover. Are you having overs or unders? I’m having overs, I work in an office, my operation is on a Tuesday and I’ve said I’ll be back to work on the Monday after, but if I need extra time off they’ve said its fine. I would tell your manager, because they may need to make special arrangements for you or take things into consideration before asking you to do certain things. People will probably notice anyway but if I were you I’d tell your manager just from a safety at work aspect 🙂 xx

Hi hun, my surgeon has given me a minimum of three weeks off work due to what I do. You can request a note from your doctor to give to your work saying that you’re having an operation and need a certain amount of time off and then when you return you need to be on light duties. They can do it on plain paper with no mention of what your operation is. That way you may be able to receive sick pay as well if the money you’d be losing is an issue. Xx
