Dermal implants under GA

Hi, I know I can ask my surgeon when I see him but just wondered if anyone knew if I would have to take my dermal a out for the GA. I know I will need to remove all my piercings but dermals are imbedded into skin, surely I wouldn’t have to have them cut out pre op??? Anyone else had a BA with dermal implants. Btw they are on my wrist. Thanks girls x

You will have to put tape over them, and sign a form saying you are aware you are doing that and its your own risk. I have a piercing down below which after half an hour in the bathroom couldn’t get off so I had to tape my bits up and sign a form haha. If you don’t want to have anything sticky over it, ask for a dressing as well…that’s what I did as I didn’t want to just put tape down there lol 😛 x

Obviously take all the other ones out though, but leave the dermal. I had to take my tongue and belly button piercing off still. X

Hi I had my ba two weeks ago and I’ve got dermal a in my wrist! Just make sure you tell you pc and surgeon for them to ok it! And yeah just have to put tape over them and sign a form on the day xx

I have a dermal in the middle of my chest and that was fine 🙂 Dr just put tape over it x

Thanks girls so glad won’t have to have it removed, just worried when say couldn’t even have a bobble with metal in so was sure a piercing would have been worse. I hAve more piercings which can come out and one which may be bit tricky to put bk in if in pain thanks again
