Did anyone take their bandages off early themselves?

Currently 7 days PO and they are driving me crazy. I was meant to get unwrapped today but they changed my appointment to late on Thursday. I’ve heard people say they got told they could take theirs off after 4 days if they were too uncomfortable. Did anyone take theirs off themselves? Was it difficult? Did the nurses tell you off? Lol x

I need to know the same I’m 4 days po and the bandages are driving me mental! I want to take them off. They are keeping me awake now, so uncomfy and itchy grrr :/

vik i don’t see why not as she took them off really quickly, but if you do just leave the steri strips over the incisions and the nurse will put fresh ones on. and then wear a decent sports bra 24/7 x

@kerry did it hurt when they took them off? They’re stuck like glue!! X

I’ve took mine off couldn’t wait no longer. The crease of the bandages I was wearing were digging into my incisions, so I was really relieved when I took it off. I’ve taped the sterile strips back on over the stitches. Taking the sticky bandages off hurt like mad tho x

I caved too, i started trimming and then just got carried away! Spoke to one of my mates today who’s a dr and he said it was fine to take them off and was surprised that they were happy to leave me taped up for ten days. Have left the steri stops on though. Feels so much better having it off x

It’s a relief isn’t it 🙂 I would of have to wait for ten days too. Knew I couldn’t wait that long xx

I just done it lol. It was causing to much pain and aggro. Ill just have to wear my bra all the time now xx
