It was just me and my Dad growing up and I managed to pluck up the courage and tell him that I wanted a BA. I was expecting him to cringe and tell me that I was being silly BUT I was pleasantly surprised by his positive and supportive reaction. He even offered to pay!
So far the only people who know about this BA (surgery will be 2nd Jan) are my immediate family, boyfriend and 2 best friends. HOW DO I BREAK IT TO THE FUTURE IN-LAWS? Did you break it to the in-laws or didn’t bother? I see them on a regular basis as we live near to them but the last time they spotted me bandaged up was after I got my implant inserted – BOYF’S father asked about it then looked like he regretted asking me… I don’t tend to wear things revealing in general and I’m never on beach holidays… So would there be a possibility that they don’t really know my bra size?
I’m a 34B and estimated at 34 D/DD. Please advise on how to break things to them or keep your BA hidden!
Laura I’m literally in the exact same position! Only my mum, boyfriend and 3 best mates know. I’m probably more worried about the in laws knowing than the op itself nearly! Mines on the 15th December. I only see them every few months (they’re a half an hour flight away) but I’m going over to them for a few days 2 weeks after my op! I don’t want them to know? I feel like they wouldn’t seem bothered to my face but would secretly be judging me in their head! Or if other family members found out would they talk about me? I just think they’ll think differently of me! Like im a fake tart or something? I’m hoping with it being winter and me wearing jumpers and coats and not seeing me often they won’t notice, but I’ll be going up like 3 bra sizes so surely they would? Omg haha you’re not alone! X
@ljx6 Winter coats and jumpers are exactly what I’m thinking of! I’m guessing the compression bra will help flatten them out a tad? i just feel that when I do get my new boobs, I’ll feel more confident and I may just wear low-cut tops in the future but don’t want to suddenly suprise them with these big boobs ahaha. I am wearing padded bras at the moment and they do look like a full D-cup so maybe they are thinking that I am a D anyway? I think we’re just going to have to ride this on out and if people ask questions… then perhaps tell them the truth? I think I would but I don’t think they would mention it as it’s not exactly dinner conversation ahah. Good luck with your op! Let me know what everyone’s reactions are when you see them aha xx
I’ve told all my family and in laws. But just to reassure you I honestly think they wouldn’t notice. My aunties didn’t notice all evening on Saturday and I told them at the end of yhe evening. And I’ve literally gone from a flat a to having big boobies I’ll probably be a 34dd/e. I also went back to work today and didn’t get any funny looks. The people in the office who knew said they think no one would notice lol. Baggy jumpers and floaty shirts. If you don’t want to tell them you have no need to. Its ur body x
@laclinton that’s what I was thinking too! The bra should flatten them. But with me only being 2 weeks PO when I stay with them I’m hoping I won’t be in any more pain or stiffness by then to give it away! What we like haha! Yeah I’ll probably be the exact same. Especially when it rolls round to summer and say even wearing a vest top you’d be able to tell? They’ll just see me one month and they’ll be there hahah! I’m only just an A cup atm so even an ultra mega padded bra I still wouldn’t look anywhere near a D! Hmm I’m not sure what I’d say if they asked? I’d be so embarrassed! I’d hope that if they did notice they’d either not say anything (please!) or ask my bf when I’m not there haha! I just can’t stomach the thought of his mum asking me if my boobs are fake! She’s got huge boobs naturally and she’s a woman so she’ll notice surely? Everyone else in his immediate family are men, he has no sisters. God I’m getting scared just thinking about it hahaha! Good luck to you as well! Hopefully we’ll look back on this in a few months and wonder what we were worried about hahah xx
I wouldn’t bother telling them, since it’s in winter you will get away with hiding the big bra 🙂 and unless your getting really large implants if often just looks the same as in a super padded bra. My boyfriend went and told his parents without even discussing it with me and was all set to tell all his friends because apparently I shouldn’t be ashamed or hide it lol – apparently his mum said i will end up getting other things done and waste money but she’s never mentioned it to my face or said good luck or anything. Xx
@stacey411 thanks Stacey, he should’ve asked you first I think? Ive already told my bf I’m worried what his family will think so think he knows not to say anything for now haha! Then again blokes can be a bit slow when it comes to stuff like this they probably don’t realise lol! Wow that’s not nice of her? I’d be gutted if his mum said that wouldn’t be able to look her in the eye knowing she’s said stuff about me haha! That’s what I mean they see you different don’t they. My mum was the same she just thought a boob job is just “fake” if it was someone else getting one she probably would’ve said it’ll be lips next haha! I’m not bothered about what my own family think just his. He said they won’t care but I know they’ll have an opinion. What size are you now if you don’t mind me asking? Xx
I’m in the exact same boat! One of the things holding me back is having people I care about judge me for having it done… ???? Xxxxxxx
I was literally having this discussion with my boyfriend yesterday! I don’t think his mum or sister would ask me outright but they may ask him and I’d feel bad telling him to lie to them and say I haven’t had a BA. But I don’t like the idea of them knowing, either ????
I think I’ll leave it up to him and just pray they never ask… but will tell him not to tell his friends, because I don’t want to be known as “the girlfriend that has fake tits”, you know what groups of guys are like!!
Such a tricky one isn’t it! I’m weird I honestly don’t care about my own familys opinions because I’m comfortable enough with them plus they’ll accept it because I’m family but my bfs parents arent as close so it’s easier for them to judge. I know she wouldn’t say anything bad to my face but her opinion of me might change.. Serena I know what you mean!! But weirdly my bf told his best mate and I don’t mind at all but his best mate is the nicest guy ever, he’s such a sweetheart he’d never say a bad word about anyone and he won’t spread it round all the mates either so I didn’t mind him telling that mate haha!! X
You could be honest, just ask them if they ever have considered plastic surgery and what they would change and then you could mention you may go ahead and get a BA so they won’t be as surprised?
Or wear super padded bra’s before the Op, then after stick to what the surgeon suggest wearing like sports bras which compress them and some woolly jumpers like the girls have said, this will make the difference not look so great and if any questions asked you could say a new bra or something.
Or just wear whatever you are comfortable in and if people notice and decide to ask you then you can break it to them, you never know they may want them too 😛
Good luck xx
