Hiya all day 2 I’ve only got about 18 codine left to last until Monday I’ve been waking in the night with horrendous back pain so I’ve been taking them on the night as well yesterday i ended up taking 13 and I’m worried there going to run out my doctors isn’t open till Monday so I’m clueless what I do if they do run out any other strong painkillers I can buy over the counter

Are you allowed to take 13 in a day??
If you go to a pharmacy they can help advise with painkillers and sort you with a prescription.

If you can’t get an appointment with a gp because it’s a weekend there’s always a walk in centre? You might have to sit and wait for an hour or two.
They’ll probably only give you cocodamol instead of codeine on its own (they genuinely seem to think everyone is addicted to painkillers) but you might get lucky depending on the Dr, and if you have the paperwork from the hospital it should make it a bit easier to get a prescription too.

You can get cocodamol over the counter as well, but the max they can give you is usually 8mg rather than 30 without a prescription. X

    +1

Coedine causes constipation (hence why people get such bad post op bloating) and I’ve heard this is much worse if you take them like smarties and you’ll be backed up for weeks. You may want to consider some laxatives (start with a SMALL dose) in a day or two if you still haven’t ‘been’, although as aways, best to consult with your PS, a pharmacist or GP.
