Drains after surgery???

Hi just curious does anyone know if everyone has drains in after surgery or does it depend on whether they are going under muscle or partials??

I’m feeling a bit thick here, but what are drains? I’m having my op on Wednesday and nobody has mentioned these x

It depends on the Sugoen Hun I had mr traynor and he does use drains or strapping xx @jess there like lil tubes that come out of each boob into like a bucket thing to drain away excess fluid and blood they are meant to lower the risks off seromas and build up on fluid but there’s no really evidence to say they do it’s all down to the Sugoen xxx

I had drains fist hurt comit out just felt very weird xx

Hey, I’m having Dr Mounir and I asked what drains were before I’d decided if I was having unders/overs and he said it was surgeon preference and no he never uses them. So I think it’s just up to them and what they feel is best, I have seen a post on here of someone who had to go back in and be drained as there was a fluid build up but I think that is rare and just a minor complication with her. Best to ask your surgeon in consultation, or contact nurse to ask if you’ve already seen your surgeon. Xx

I had Mounir and didn’t have any drains

Think it depends on your surgeon I had my op yesterday with mr netri and he uses them. A strange feeling then being removed but not painful at all.
