Hi 🙂 I’m a bit queezy when it comes to certain things for example the tube they put in ur hand, my granda had one a while back and every time I visited him and seen it my stomach would go over, don’t like them but prepared myself for that as getting new boobs makes it worth it! However, these drains :/ how long do we have them in for? Are they painful? Can they catch on things? Xx

Hiya, I think drains are given depending on surgeons preference. The cannula was in my arm so didn’t really see that and couldn’t see the drains either. The nurse took my drains it before I went home but I didn’t feel a thing however some people say that it isn’t nice! Xx

No it’s pretty rare for people to have them it depends on how your body reacts to the surgery! X

Ask for numbing cream on your hands before surgery ask the nurse once you get there thats what scared me but they gave me cream and didnt feel it. I had drains when I woke up they was taken out just before I left it wasnt nice but its over in seconds and relieves pain once they are out xxx

not everyone has drains no just depends what surgeon you have but im sure you could find out! i didnt have them, and as for the thing they put in your hand you dont feel that at all, i hate things like that and im the biggest baby but i didnt feel it at all, if anything you dont have time to even think about that with everything else that is going on around you! x

Aww don’t worry too much about the drains! I was really scared to have them out but whatever you do just listen to the nurse she will tell you to breathe in and then breathe out as if you’re doing a breathalyser and you don’t feel any pain. It is a really weird sensation but its nothing bad like a pain xoxo

Heya I had drains in after surgery and I honestly didn’t notice them at all whilst they were in. When they were taking out it just felt a bit strange. The nurse removed them about an hour and half before I went home. You will be ok its nothing to worry about. xx

I had drains and the nurse took them out just before I left (about 4 hours later) Its a mad feeling when they are removed my left was a little uncomfortable but mainly because the nurse was bloody tugging on it and I could feel it moving around inside me! but It was very bearable, the right was a breeze, there not as bad as ladies think and I was glad to have them as I had a good amount of fluid in the bottle which I was glad wasn’t still in me boobs lol xx

The drains are all dependent on the surgeon, I didn’t have drains. But then it’s the same with strapping, some surgeons strap u up after, some don’t x x

I had drains with Marion grob they’re not half as bad as everyone says more of a nuisance having to drag them around to the toilet etc. they were fine coming out no drama at all just a tugging feeling and a bit stingy. I always compare everything I do to giving birth and it was a breeze compared to that x

Thanks every one 🙂 I thought u had them regardless I didn’t no there was a chance I may not get them.. I hope I don’t get them I think I’m more nervouse for them than the actual opp and recovery lol.. It’s good to no that the pain doesn’t last and once they out that’s it. It’s just the not knowing what to expect I’ve heard so many stories. Thanks girls xxx

I had drains! It was an odd feeling getting them out but it doesn’t hurt! I had my op at 11am think my drains came out about 3pm! It’s really nothing to worry about! I also had my iv tube in my arm not my hand. 🙂 xxx
