Hoping to have unders in a few months, but starting to worry about drains. Did you have to have them, and if so, how long for? How was the pain having them removed? Sorry for the questions! And I know everyone’s experiences will differ greatly! TIA XXX

Heya. I specifically didn’t want drains as I’ve heard they can cause infection. If you do get drains they are removed a couple of hours after your operation and appear to hurt quite a bit. I asked my surgeon in my initial consultation if he used drains (if he said yes I would have gone with someone else) but fortunately he said no and that he never had as he doesn’t see that they make a difference. So I was happy with this! I think it just depends on the surgeons choice but I’d definitely ask xx

I had drains, they were left in overnight and had them out this morning, didn’t hurt at all. Mind over matter girls x

I was so worried about my drains being removed but I found it they were more uncomfortable everytime I got up to go to the loo. X

Thanks ladies, you’ve put my mind at ease at little. I’ve had my consultation with Monuir (sp). Not booked yet due to not being able to take any finance out till December due to mortgage application. Hoping to book in Dec/Jan time. I really can’t stand the thought of them.
I was under the impression if you have indeed then you must have drains?? Xx
