Ahhhh Sara, I felt like that the first few times I drove my car, I drive a little Puma which is also a pain to get in and out of. I leant back to get my seat belt once and felt something tear! I caused the tiniest stretch mark and that was about about 2 weeks post op. It will get easier, I did drive after a week but it wasn’t comfortable xx

If it makes you feel better rio, I had a 40 mile round trip, everyday, to go to work. Its not too bad, just a little uncomfortable the first few times x

Your driving tomorro after having ur ba a day? Your mad hun!! sorry but i wouldnt even risk it…you prob wont be insured either as you’ll still have the anesthetic inside you for a couple of days…you wont be able to move your arms about too much either, really wouldnt bother taking your car or risk driving hun…also if your by yourself they wont let you home, x

i agree with you sara theres no way theyll let virish drive home if shes on her own.you need someone with you for 24 hrs when you get home so driving will be out of the question.

OMG i don’t think that would be a good idea, i drove at 8 days (only for 5 mins up the road) and although i felt okay, i definately couldn’t have driven a long way! I’m sure the surgeon would not recommend it either!

I drove 5 days after my ba, and OMG what a weird feeling it was like being a learner all over again (very achy & sore as well)…..feeling better now after couple of days. Think its because u feel so stiff after ba, and its amazing how many muscles u use to drive. x

I’m finding it difficult to organise p.up but when i asked helen my patient-cordinator she said definately NO you will not be insured should anything go wrong and also they will not release you without someone being there – even though i hate having to rely on anyone I do think it would be wise.
