Driving with a pillow

Tomorrow I’m getting my strapping off and I’m so excited but was just wondering when you can stop sitting in a car with a pillow between you and the seat belt or is it just preference. I have a 45 minute journey to make tomorrow with someone i don’t really want knowing I’ve had my operation so was wondering if i could go without xx
