DUE ON PERIOD AT TIME OF SURGERY

I’m due on my period a couple days after my booked surgery date. My period tends to be 1 or 2 days off but there’s a chance I’ll be on either on the day of my surgery, or maybe a couple days later. Can you be on your period during surgery? I don’t want to have to delay my date!

I also don’t want to start the pill or take that pill that delays your period because obviously the hormones can affect my breast size etc and I don’t want that before my surgery.

Also concerned about being on my period straight after my surgery as some ladies on here have said that they’re so restricted in terms of movement that they even struggle to wipe (lol) so I’m thinking changing tampons etc may be quite difficult.

Have any of you ladies been on your period during surgery or straight after and if so how did you get on?

Hi I unexpectedly came on on the morning of my surgery a week early ! I was so worried they would have to cancel the op but they just had me put a sanitary towel in the little paper knickers they give you x

@mummyemma91 thanks so much for your reply! Did you find that it made your recovery more difficult? I know this is personal lol but did you find it uncomfortable to change your pads/tampons because of restricted movement?? x

No I had no problems with that was just annoying more than anything x
