DVT Socks

Morning girls, I had my opp yesterday around 1.30pm and since my admission time (yesterday 10am) I’ve been wearing my compression socks until now, just got my dad to take them off as I’m getting so hot. But I had two different nurses telling me things yesterday, one said I don’t really need to keep them on at all today whereas another said that during the day I can keep them off but for the next two sleeps I have to keep them on. Just wondering what everyone else as told? Xx

I was told by the nurse to keep them on for 5 days post op. I had my BA Tuesday so have finally stopped wearing the socks today x

Have you been wearing them all the time Hun or just been wearing them at night? X

I got told 2 different things to i kept them on for first two nights but in day rolled them down for couple hours my legs were strugglin to breath an they became achy so took off an walked alot instead xx

Yeah they just feel so tight and make my feet hot!! Maybe I’ll put them back on again in a bit don’t want to risk anything xx

I’ve had them on constantly Day and night x

I took mine off pod2. As long as you’re not just confined to the bed you’ll be fine xx

I was told to take mine off the day after my op, so long as you’re keeping mobile you’ll be fine. Xx

I was told to keep them on for 5 days. I’ve been pretty active but thought it was safer to keep them on xXx

I was contemplating taking mine off I’m nearly at day 2 po – but my mum who is a nurse said no try and keep them on as long as possible. I’m back to work tomorrow so will need to get them off then. So if u can keep on keep on x

Hi Sian,
I wore mine for 5 days, my nurse advised me to do so as you’re not really moving around much the first few days post op. I wasn’t really doing much, just moving from the bed to the sofa lol
Maybe take them off for like half an hour if they’re making you hot, then put them back on again x
