ECG test before op??

Has anyone else had to have a ECG test before having surgery? I went for my pre op and my nurse noticed I have an eptopic pulse! I went to my GP and he put me on a monitor for 24hr but the monitor switched it’s self off so they couldn’t get the results :-// ( just my luck) when I took the monitor back to the doctors I also had another monitor put on for 5 mins that also did a reading on my heart and the result have come back that I have an normal heart rhythm but It showed I have extra heartbeats :-// my doctor said this won’t affect my op in anyway but he advices me to have another 24hr ECG to see how many extra beat there is before my op, But my surgery is booked for this Wednesday the 26th, I’m just wondering if anyone else has been through similar to me??

I had one at my gp and have refused me because I had a ECG when there was nothing wrong! It was all normal! I’m as fit as a butchers dog and they’ve refused me! 🙁 I don’t mean to scare you! But if your gp said it shouldn’t affect your op then I wouldn’t worry. If they were really worried they would have said something by now 🙂 xx

Well my nurse is going to forward my results over to the surgeon for him to look at and decided if he want to do the surgery or not! OMG!! why have they said no?? I would be ringing them an asking why?? If they is something wrong with you to stop you having the op surly you should no about it ? Some doctors can be so rubbish these days! Xxx

I have a sinus arrhythmia (type of irregular heartbeat) & have had loads of tachycardias ( extremely fast heart beat when resting) in the past but I had all my test done prior to my op I obvs told my surgeon everything and he was happy to go ahead without contacting my gp and I had my op & had no issues whatsoever!! xxx

That good to know. Its just I have already payed for my op and my partner has booked time of to look after the kids so I really don’t want to have to change my date if I don’t have to xx

Hya hun ive got a heart murmur, same thing like an extra heartbeat or valve I cant remember, ive had about 50 ECG in my lifetime…lol they couldnt make their minds up if it was serious, I was told it wasnt and was discharged from further investigation in 2007, so I hope this is not a problem for me also as I know theyll here it on the ECG but ive never had any issues with it. Xx

They probley won’t make u have one then if you already know about your, see I have never notice mine :-/ it’s just my luck for them to find something wrong with me 6 days before my op lol I’m just abit worried now that they won’t do it because my 24hr ECG switched off so they didn’t have result for that one 🙁 only time will tell tho I suppose the surgeon and his gang will know best lol 😀 xx
