I’ve been reading all your stories to occupy me whilst recovering from my own. It’s all very exciting & I can’t wait to have my strapping off next week!
I’m 5’4, 8st5, almost 30 with 2 children & since my 2nd (now 2) I’ve been so unhappy with my different sized tubular & slightly saggy breasts. What better 30th birthday present than new boobs?!

Mr Marcellino has been fantastic, he instantly told me what I needed & it all happened so quickly from there. The PC I had at Fitzroy wasn’t great, she made a mistake with the finance (despite it being the main thing she wanted to discuss at 1st appt), then again telling me I needed to sign forms just 48hrs pre op or the op couldn’t go ahead. Without access to a scanner this was a bit tricky so a special trip the day before was required -as if there’s not enough to be nervous about the day before… Ranting part over.

So, admin issues aside, I couldn’t fault the experience on Weds 27th Jan. I was 2nd into theatre & Mr Marcellino came to see me to agree what he was about to do. He gave me 1 X 325cc under muscle and 1 X 350cc partially under the muscle. The staff at the hospital were fantastic and reassuring the whole time (I was quite nervous). The anaesthetist was amazing with the cannula (I thought I’d go for gas after panicking) but it was over in a flash! Recovery was fine, I was cold & shaking but that’s normal too. I had as much morphine as I could & felt good from it (a bit drunk!) I was surprised after it wore off how bearable the pain actually was, I had a little sleep whilst waiting to have the drains removed so I could go home. The drains in each breast were fine, I didn’t feel any pain when they were removed thanks to the breathing technique shown by the nurse.

I’m now trying to take it easy & finding regular painkillers, walking around (inc outdoors) & ice packs are doing the trick. I’ve been using the Marcom bra since leaving the hospital & have taken it off each day to have a look – the shape isn’t as round as I’d like but all the tape (plasters as my daughter calls them) probably don’t help with the look. As I keep reading on here, things need to settle and fluff so who knows what changes will come. I feel like I’ve been in the hands of an expert so whatever way it goes I’m confident it’s going to be better than before and the thought of that makes me so happy. Before/ after pics hopefully attached. Xx

    Hi Lucy

I also had my surgery with Mr Marcellino on Monday 25th so nearly 1week post op! I am strapped up the exact same as you…I had 375cc unders moderate plus, how you finding the strapping? I’m so uncomfortable can’t wait to have it of on Monday. It’s not a good look also had to cut it a bit so I could breath!!! I Also have 2 Children, married and 30 this year, my kids are at a good age they can look after themselves ☺️

Do you have any pain? I was in agony at your stage ? but a little better today (not speaking to soon) as I know you can have good days and then it can all go wrong!

I hope you have a lovely recovery and they are perfect when released ?

    Vick xx

    Hi Vicky,

It’s good to hear from someone in a similar position to me! My girls are 2 & 4 so not looking after them myself yet just incase they need lifting.
The pain is uncomfortable, one side is worse than the other & I feel like I might have burst a stitch with a sharp stinging pain so trying to rest a bit more but equally want to keep moving so they settle.
The cocodamol is quite strong stuff isn’t it, I’m only taking 1 but regularly although that stops after 5 days.
Are you pleased with your look or like me are you finding it hard to tell with the strapping? Be good to hear from you on Monday- mine comes off on Tues xx

    Hiya

Mine are 9 & 5 so can do things in there own and don’t need lifting ??
Yeah I feel like that too I feel like I’ve burst a stitch ?bit hurts on one side and really stinging….oh I hope I haven’t! I also worry about other things like ‘double bubble’ or ‘collection of fluid’ something serious like that but right now I can’t see what they look like, they are strapped like yours so can only see the nipple! I’m looking forward too seeing them on Monday but also scared in case I hate them ?
I stopped the co-codamol after day 2!as it didn’t work for me and was still in pain…the nurse suggested I take 2 paracetamol & 2 ibuprofen every 4hrs and this is much better for me, pain has subsided a bit, I mean it’s still real tight and I can’t really lift my arms and I need help getting up and out of bed but still a bit better! I dunno about you but I struggled with breathing for the first few days, was hard to catch a breath!

Il let you know how Monday goes, I’m dreading having it off, supposed to hurt a bit…like a full blown tit wax ? be good to see what they actually look like after though been dying to see them all week.

Will keep you posted. ? X
