Experience with over the muscle implants?

Hey girls
i had my consultation with Mr Traynor, it went really well. Found him very blunt but I was pre warned about this but he was nice enough. He did tell me that i already had nice boobs and did I really want them doing and then when I proceeded to tell him I wanted more fullness at the top of my breast he said do you know how this can be achieved?… a good bra not a breast augmentation. Felt a little surprised at how non pushy he was about it, suppose I expected him to encourage it more than discourage but guess thats only a good sign.
He told me I would need high profile and stated this is what he uses on most people and said I need overs not unders because I already have breast tissue, Im a 32b at the minute. I was quite shocked about him saying overs to be honest. He then said I can have any range of size between 300-400cc and that it should only be my decision and not his. I tried the sizers on and liked the 400cc but I can’t help but feel apprehensive about going this big? I’m 5ft 5 and 9.5 stone.

Do any of you girls think that when the implant is placed over the muscle they look bigger than when under? I’m only put off by this as my friend has 400cc overs with Mr Traynor and hers look huge and I’m terrified of having massive boobs. Any pictures of these sizes would be appreciated?

You need to be specific about what you mean by massive because massive to you and someone else is two different things. Some women think a DD is big some think a F.

The fact he has left it down to you with such a massive size range hasn’t helped either.

I think your best bet if you are really certain of the look you want is to go back and find out roughly what cup size you may achieve with each size.

On average sized women 150cc equals one cup however if you are quite slender and petite (4-8) narrow band (28-30) you may get more than a cup. I was under the impression I would be a DD at most but I ended up a FF.

There are pros and cons for unders and overs. Overs take quicker to heal and unders are generally considered to look more natural because the top of the implant isn’t usually obvious to see.

If your friend went ahead with the size that you have liked and her boobs/figure were similar to yours then you definitely need to go back and have another appointment. It doesn’t sound like it was very informative on the whole but with some surgeons if you don’t explicitly ask questions they don’t divulge much information.

The more you know and are clued up on the process, sizes etc the better there’s no harm to question their answers. My first consultation lasted over 25mins as I had so many questions and my surgeon drew diagrams and explained all of her responses. She gave me just two sizes to choose from and I hadn’t even booked my op at this point I went ahead because I was impressed how thorough she was.

If my surgeon had said they use a certain projection on the majority of their patients I wouldn’t be very impressed because everyone is built differently… nor with such a wide range of sizes because their job is to guide you to meet your expectations. Correct me if I’m wrong but he sounds like he was being very generic from what you wrote.

You can compare what you have to others but your implant size, shape and projection will be specific to you to compliment your chest wall measurements, height, weight and shape.

I had overs and I am 3wpo, my recovery time was very quick, I wasn’t in much pain, overs drop a lot quicker than unders and I think mine look quite natural tbh, I have been mobile since the day of my op and they have softened loads xx

i saw Dr Traynor who also offered me 300-400. i think this is due to my fram will br suitable to csrry more size. im 5″4, 10-12, wider hips and round bum. I am bottom heavy at the moment although i felt 400 to be too big for me. but 350/375 im happy with when trying the implants x

I had overs, they look so much more natural as there’s no muscle holding them up so high and tight! I always thought it was the other way around, but honestly overs are so natural if you have some breast tissue to begin with (I was only an A but it was fine!)

As I’m sure you know, both overs and unders have their pros and cons.
Underst generally are considered safer and more natural looking because the muscle is protecting/hiding the implant.
However, if you have enough breast tissue you can achieve a natural look with overs as well. I was a 32c/34b and I saw 5 different surgeons who all suggested overs. The other advantages of the overs are the shorter/less painful recovery and more natural sagging (im yet to have children so this was another reason why my surgeon put the implant over the muscle). They also move more naturally as the muscle is not holding them down tight. I wouldn’t be too worried about either placement, but if you have any doubts it can’t hurt to ask a second opinion.
About the sizing issue, like Fran said you were given such a wide range of sizes it must be very daunting to try and decide. I literally lived on forums and looked at so many pictures before my surgery. What I would say is that even people with similar stats can have very different outcomes, like 400cc can look huge on someone and just normal on others. What’s important is how they feel on you. My surgeon didn’t actually tell me the size of the implants I was trying on until I said I was happy with the look. Prior to that oppontment I was dead set on 400cc but actually ended up having 325cc (I’m only 5″1).

@fran32 Thanks for taking the time to reply. I did have an in depth consultation that lasted about 40 minutes in which he drew diagrams aswell. I admit I did overly ask lots of questions purely because I have researched this to death for about five years and also because I’m a nurse I feel quite clued up regarding the risks and things, obv he did go into detail about this though. The reason he said high profile was due to my measurements but he did also say they are the ones he uses the most. I don’t think this is a negative though because every surgeon has their preference and he is taking into account measurements aswell. I do agree that the range of sizes weren’t that helpful but I have found that a lot of the girls with mr traynor who are my size and build have been offered this size range. He did state that the reason he offers this size range is based on the fact it will suit my frame and that there is less than a cup size between the smallest to largest. And he believes a size choice should be my individual choice Aslong I have been informed what will suit my frame. When I say massive, I don’t really want to be anymore than a D and I’m a 32 back. X

Hi Jessica. I had 310 overs 4 weeks ago. I had Mr Clarke at transform who was amazingly kind and has giving me the exact results I asked for. I have pics on my profile if you want to add. My recovery was great the insisions we’re that small and neat they was pretty much healed at my 7day check so I was allowed to shower and lay normally in bed again. Not all surgeons are abrupt find one who you can work with at the end of the day it’s a life changing this and very expensive. I was that nervous my consultation I was shaking but my surgeon was so kind I instantly relaxed xx

I was worried to at first as I see a lot of posts stating indeed were more natural I’ve just hit 5wpo and I’m very happy with how natural they are looking and still have a lot of settling to do I had 325 and 350 and so far this is my results hope it helps x
