I have my op booked on the 22nd March, am seeing the surgeon 28th Jan. I am totally terrified of needles but want this op so bad! Is the needle as bad as my head is making me think?! Need some claiming reassurance please! 🙂 xx
Are u on about the one in ur hand to put u to sleep? I had a bad experience when I gave birth with one of these so i was dreading it and they put cream on to numb it and he used one he uses on baby’s on me ? I didn’t feel a thing xx
Hi Jess. I have a complete phobia of needles and had to have hypnotherapy just to have a filing a couple of years ago. Had my op on Monday and the needle was my biggest worry! I know it’s easy for everyone to say but honestly they’re such a great team and really put you at ease. The thought is more terrifying than the injection. I had a little cry when I went down because I was so scared. It stung a little when they put it in but that was it. They did mine just above my wrist and really taped it up so I couldn’t feel it. When I woke up in recovery they’d put my arm with the cannula under the covers so I couldn’t see it. The nurse held my hand whilst they put the cannula in. Theyre so good I couldn’t praise them enough xxx
Yeah the one in your hand, is that the only one that you have? If I ask will they numb mine? I’m such a wimp when it come to needles. Is it still in there when you wake up? If so for how long? Xx
I had my op yesterday and was dreading the cannula because I had a bad experience when I had my little girl but honestly the team are so good, it stings a tiny bit but that’s it xx
