I’m 2 weeks post op and honestly feel like I look pregnant. Not a good look for trying to show off my new assets. Anyone got any tips getting rid of it. I’m so used to trading 4-5 times a week and can’t do any exercise obviously.
@Amanda i’ve got my op in 8 weeks and I’m starting my post op diet now cos I know full well I’m going to put a lot of weight on if I cant train for 6 weeks!
If you can’t exercise then your only option really is to cut the food quantities to even it out.
Or eat the same amount but only healthy, not allowing treats. (I personally couldnt do the 2nd option lol) I usually try to be strict in the week then allow myself a treat meal on the weekend. I know you can’t exercise but just going for a long walk will also help towards staying fit and burning a few calories too xxx
@katiep369 I definitely slacked off before my op which is making me feel worse. You’re doing the right thing being good beforehand. I’m annoyed with myself for not.
I feel like I’ve become so lazy with food with having to relax and not do much I’ve ate to much chocolate and to many takeaways.
Think I just need to look at my belly every time want to eat something naughty lol. I’m back to work now and have to park on at least the 8th floor so been doing the stairs instead of the lift. It’s not much but better than nothing lol.
I might start a diary to keep me on track!
@Amanda you should use the MyFitnessPal app to track your intake. It’s brilliant and really makes you make more concious about what to eat when you see how it adds up so easily! I’ve even got my boyfriend hooked on it now, he loves it! Taking the stairs will definitely make a difference! Keep doing it! xx
@katiep369 I’ve tried it. Had it a few times and end up deleting it. I can’t get my head round it and hate searching for food I’ve eaten on it 🙁 xxx
@manda-b86 @katiep369
I started a diet now as well, my ops in 3 weeks and not being able to go to the gym 5x a week is going to kill me!
Def start a diary but I agree with Katie I use the MyFitnessPal app and it’s great. Maybe just try cutting your carbs a little and upping your protein until you can get back to the gym. But try not to stress to much, you’ll be back in the gym before you know it and you’ll have amazing new boobs as a bonus 🙂 xx
@hannahlaura Thanks Hannah. I’m really going to try hard from tmoro. I’ve even ate th last of my chocolate so there’s none in the house for tmoro haha. If it’s not in the house I can’t eat it!
im gonna give my fitness pal another go. do you weigh everythin you have before putting it on the app though? Xxx
@manda-b86 yeah that’s true, you can’t eat what’s not there! I tend to weigh everything I eat anyway, otherwise I always over serve myself haha.
When I first got the app I sat down and added loads of food to it that I know I regularly eat, so now it’s easier to just click and add (if that makes sense) xx
@hannahlaura It does hannah. Thanks for the tip. I’m gonna go through it all tmoro on my day off. Xxx
Hi Amanda! I feel the same, I used to train at gym about 4 times a week. I got lazy before my op and wasn’t going as much. I’m trying to be healthy but it’s soooo hard to resist treats when your recovering! I do slimming world so I’ve started that again to get back on track xxx
I’m so relieved to see other people feeling like me. I run a netball club and I’m head coach and an umpire so usually get loads of exercise. I always eat well in the week and then have a few drunks and snacks at the weekend. Usually I fluctuate between 8s7lb and 9st. I’m usually lightest mid week and heaviest by Sunday evening. However, the weeks leading up to my op I was really good (cut out alcohol no snacking) and I actually stuck at 9st. I’m now just over 9st with the addition of my assets and I’m not happy with my stodgy belly. I thought I’d be weighing less due to the detox beforehand not more and now I face 8 weeks of no netball… will deffo be back coaching and umpiring ASAP… can’t cope
Drink not drunk… although that sometimes happens at the weekend too :).
And I also.usw MyFitnessPal every single day…
I started dieting in March this year. My op is only in the end of Sept. It’s a little bit easier for me because I have personal trainer (exercises and diet-i don’t need to track my calories because everything is written down). Im quite determined person so I don’t do cheat meals over the weekend. Just stick to the diet. Just before op I plan to prepare meals for all week- you can easy keep it in the fridge for a few days. Also I will make sure protein powder is always around and water! Plenty of water ????
I’m the exact same. It’s been two weeks since I’ve had my op and my stomach is looking massive! Feel bloated still plus I’ve not been eating well during recovery, just been eating what’s easiest. Can’t wait to get back to the gym!! X
This is what I’m most worried about! Having been a lot bigger in the past I’m so concerned without exercise I’m going to pile it all back on! So glad that it’s not just me, I’m going to get lots of protein snacks to have handy and just have to be really strict with eating. Good luck girls xx
It’s good to know other girls feel like this before/after their ops. It doesn’t get mentioned much on here. Like Amber I used to be really big and worry about getting like that again if I can’t exercise for 6 weeks! Not sure if it will upload but I’ll show my *before* photo! Xx
@katiep369 Wow! You look unreal. What did you do to get your hot as fook results lol xxx
I’m 1 week p.o. and my tummy is driving me insane wish the swelling would go down does anyone know when it does lol ?xx
I’m going to have this problem too!! I go to the gym 4/5 times a week and just had my op today so it’s going to be a long six weeks! I’ve stocked up on protein shakes and bars so that I can keep my intake high! I’ve read on here that at 4 weeks girls were able to go to the gym and just walk on the treadmill so I’m going to hope that I will be able to do that! I literally can’t wait to actually be able to look cute in a sports bra though so it’s all going to be worth it!! xxx
@Amanda I was having takeaways every night and i mean every night! and I’d never entered a gym either. So I started at the gym, stopped the takeaways, cut down on my portion sizes drastically and chose healthy food. I started burning off more than what I was consuming and i made sure I included weight training to keep myself toned as well as slim. Exercise for me is a lifestyle now. I panic if don’t exercise or I let it slip, Hence me worrying about being post op xx
