Hey girls, my GP told me I have fibrocystic breast tissue after I went to her concerned about lumps in my boobs. She explained that lots of women get it, and it’s where most of the breast tissue goes hard or lumpy and can be painful… Do you think it’d be an issue for my BA? It’s not long until I get surgery now and I’m worried this might delay surgery.

I have it, but it comes and goes. Didn’t have it round the time of booking my op or op date so I didn’t mention it but I doubt it will be a problem as they’re not cancerous xx

I thought I hado lumps back last year and just to put my mind at ease my GP referred me and I.had an ultra scan and it came out as dence tissue it’s normal for young girls, not sure how old. You are but the more older you get the more lumpier/ thicker the tissue gets, this is what I was advised but nope shouldn’t be a problem with your ba x

I’m almost 27. Yeah it’s like the (little amount of) tissue is all hard and lumpy. It hurts, I’m trying not to wear bras because that makes it worse, but going out means I need a bra, so I’m wearing them looser so they don’t squash my boobs as much.

Thanks ladies. I hope it doesn’t last, it’s sort of been happening around my period for months now. As if being a woman wasn’t difficult enough – I had no idea boobs did that!
