Got my 1st consultation with my surgeon Dr Mahdi tomorrow, what should I expect and take with me?? So exited and hoping I can get booked in for April time ? xxxx
You shouldn’t need to take anything along with you particularly, unless perhaps you want to bring some photographs of results that you like the look of to give your surgeon a guide of what you would like to achieve yourself, and perhaps a list of questions that you would like to get answers to at this stage.
In my initial consultation, I spoke with my surgeon about why I wanted the procedure, what kind of result I wanted to achieve, and was asked questions about my background and medical history. Then the surgeon examined me and talked to me about what options he felt were right for me and what these would involve. Then I tried on the different sizes that had been recommended for me and looked at potential surgery dates. It went really quickly but it was enough to help me to make my mind up about what I wanted to do. I then had a second consultation to confirm all this back to my surgeon and plan for my surgery.
Enjoy, this is such an exciting time and your journey is about to really begin!
Awww Thankyou so much for the quick reply! Really helpful, much appreciated 🙂 looking forward to it, eeeekkk!! Xxx
Best of luck, report back and let us know how it goes!
Well it went great, Dr Mahdi was so lovely! I told him exactly what I wanted and he gave me 3 options to try on, felt so good just trying the implants on, super exited now! Need to make another app up Newcastle with my co-ordinator and then can pick my date!! Hopefully April time when I’ve got more time off work, I know you can pay extra to stay in over night in the hospital but can you just stay in a near by hotel?? Xxx
That’s great Steph, first steps behind you ? I replied in the other post but yes, you can stay in the hotel instead. Cheaper and more comfy I think.
So your PC appointment will be in New Castle and operation at Preston? xx
Yeah that’s correct! I think I’ll be more comfy in a hotel deffo! Exiting stuff isn’t it! And April will soon come round quick!!! Xxx Thankyou xxxx
No problem hun? I was actually enjoying the whole preparation and waiting time so I know that you are all over the moon already.
April will come for you in a blink the eye xx
Ah so glad it went well and that you clicked with your surgeon. Exciting times!
Definitely, I think most girls choose to stay in a hotel unless they live close enough to get home that night or unless their surgeon indicates that they would need to stay in hospital overnight. My Mum lives within less than an hour of the hospital so she picked me up and I stayed at hers overnight after my surgery but otherwise I would have also booked a hotel.
