first shower after BA tomorrow-advice

Hiya, I had my op on Feb 27th, and my left incision has only recently closed up so I am able to have my first shower tomorrow at 17days post op…yay!!! Just wanted some advice on the after care. I know I’m not allowed to use soap etc on my upper body and to be careful when I’m washing my hair, but after the shower have people been putting on steri strips still or just leaving the incisons uncovered? xx

I got advised by the nurse to pat the scars dry with clean kitchen roll or A clean towel, hope this helps! Xx

Hey hun I was pretty much the same I was so paranoid when I had my first shower lol, I found leavin my steri strips off healed any scans dry up quicker & also used the hair dryer to dry them haha, enjoy 🙂 xx

thank you…I’m so excited about being able to shower and finally feel clean, just so nervous too. Also really looking forward to seeing my new boobs without any dressing or anything on them for the first time 🙂 x

No Hun there’s no need for steri strips once you have been given the go ahead for a shower. Pat your boobs and scars carefully with a clean dry towel, my nurse told me to use separate sides of the towel for each scar. Enjoy! Xx
