I was prescribed a very low dosage of anti depressants following a bereavement of a really close family member – only for a short time – I stopped taking them as I realised I didn’t need them because I was grieving not depressed – Mya got a GP letter from a GP who I’ve never seen, she wrote about me ‘having depression’ and now A WEEK! Before my surgery it might be being cancelled! I had surgery in November with MYA for an uplift. I’m so devastated, waited so long for this and paid out so much money and time off work. So unhappy 🙁 I think it’s so unfair your deemed unfit for surgery if you’ve been on anti depressants.

That’s really sad. Any chance you can see your GP – the one who prescribed your medication? Maybe that doctor will be able to write you a 2nd letter? It’s worth trying. I know ow mya asks you to be 6 months clear of any medication ect. Xx

hi @jess this happened to me aswell, I was prescribed anti depressants in feb this year and only took them for a week, I got my GP that prescribed them to me to write a letter that I was fit for surgery and that I didn’t need the pills.
I was a right state when this was happening, in fact it was 1 week before my op! i had to fight for it as i wasn’t told this before i paid for the whole op… good luck let us know how you get on xx
