Hello girls obviously gym.is the last thing on my mind with this agony but I’m curios how long you girls took off gym? I train 6 days a week so it will kill me hahah
I really don’t want to take uneccessarily too long. I will be competing in november and hope to have enough time to prep before hand. So crdio and light exercise when feeling better isn’t allowed?
I think you have to wait for the go ahead for any exercise – even light cardi etc – from your surgeon. Most girls say 6-12 weeks depebding on how they’re healing. I’m not looking forward to not being able to train at all x
@salwa1996 im up the gym 5-6 days a week too and I’m 7 days post op and it’s killing me not getting up there. Hate not being able to do any exercise at all and I think any weights r totally off limits for atleast 6 weeks. My surgeon said nothing for 6 weeks but when I c him nxt week I’m gonna ask him if I can start doing light Cardio, squats n stuff. Fingers crossed. I suppose it’s not worth ruining our boobies by doing it early…patience eh lol xx
I started legs & bum around two weeks after op and waited 6 weeks for everything else xxx
@salwa at about 4 weeks post op I started walking I took it steady and wore 2 sports bras x
Did you have overs or unders? I have indeed and do hypertrophy training and was told I can’t touch weights for atleast 3 months 🙁 I can do cardio after 6 weeks. I’m gonna feel like a fat blob soon 🙁 already kinda do! Xx
I have UNDRRS** not Indeeds! Hahahaha !! Stupid auto correct xx
I’m so glad someone has posted this!! @salwa1996 I train 6 days a week also I’m having my op on the 1st may and also doing my first competition in sept/oct I’ve been so worried how I wont be able to go gym for 6 weeks is gonna kill me but my trainer has trained a lot of women who have had boobies and he has said once your more yourself and recovered we can train legs 2/3 weeks after providing that everything is healing ok and to go lightly I was just so worried I’ll shrink and have to train x2 as hard to get to competition prep.
So hopefully maybe we can just do light body weight exercises and very light cardio obviously your own body will tell you if you’re doing too much so I suppose it depends on how comfortable you feel xxxx
Hi Ladies… I also weight train 5 times a week and do cardio 2/3 times per week. I run long distance but after a marathon in october decided to up the weights so i would get strong (long distance running just made me more skinny!)
I had just got to the point where I could do 7 chin ups in a row the my op date came round! That doesn’t sound like a lot but I had a very weedy upper body so that was a massive success for me! I’m struggling with the idea of having a set back but I know It will be worth the weight to avoid complications!
I’m currently shlepping two protein shakes a day to help my boob recovery and prevent muscle wastage, and i’ve dropped by overall calories down to about 1800 (from 2500 on weight training days). I’m 5″10, size 8 (pre-boobs!) and i’m on a mission to get visible abs!
I’m doing to the great north run in September so plan to start training legs after 2/3 weeks, slowly introducing low impact cardio like spin, then after 6 week check i’ll start short runs and lightly get back into my normal lifting routine.
@salwa1996 really hope you’re ok for the competition! must be very exciting! just think how amazing you’ll look by the time November comes round! Best of luck!
They day that I had my strapping off today and my wounds are barley there and I’m 8 days post op. I’m in zero pain
I’m going next week for light light light cardio and very easy legs. She said I can lunge and walk and sit up but not gp gym that didn’t make sense. They just say stay away from gym. X
I started doing squats without weights around 3 weeks post op, I’m currently 4 weeks and am thinking of going to the gym again from this week to do some legs with a bit of gentle cycling. I dread to think how long you have to wait until you can do things like crunches etc… I actually got myself some abs before my operation 🙁 .. The nurse said it was okay to do sit ups? To me that would put a lot of strain on your boobs? xo
Ah I’m going to listen to my nurse! Incase it does go wrong they can’t help me 5 weeks off from todsy -.- I’m gonna go crazy but hey
