Girls with asthma…

hi ladies, i think i may have been doing to much research but i have just found out that the general anaesthesia can have an affect if you have asthma. is there anyone on here with asthma and how did you get on?

I have asthma and haven’t yet had my op, they told me I needed to ensure I had an inhaler with me on the day.

I’ve had two generals in the past and haven’t had any problems breathing afterwards.

IT depends on your peak flows as well. If your peak flow is below normal that could be a bit of an issue. Have you done your lung function test already?

I have asthma and had my op on 16th May. Had no issues at all but they will ask if you need to take your reliever down to theatre with you 🙂
