Given the wrong Implants!

So I found out last week, That I had in actual fact been given the wrong implants.
I wasn’t going to post on here as was going to give MYA a chance to redeem themselves, But after not receiving the update call I was promised today, No response to my Email from last week and after trying the number I have been given more than 5 times Friday and Today, I don’t envisage getting a response any time soon either!

To cut a long story short, I was consulted for and PC ordered 470 Soft touch Implants,
After enquiring to my surgeon in my consultation about this – I was advised that no other ‘Type’ of implant other than Soft Touch would be suitable for my frame and therefore had no option but to go with these,
I went away and looked into this type of implant as I wasn’t aware at first they’re was two types of Natrelle’s and after reading up was very happy with my Surgeons decision and in fact would have chose this type anyway if given the option.

Fast forward to surgery day, All went as planned – Confirmed with my surgeon everything went to plan and that I had been given 470 as 445 was my other option – He said all had gone great and I was now the proud owner of 407- Soft touch Implants!

This was until 4 days later when I checked my Guarantee booklet and saw I had Responsives!!
I called my PC who advised that there is no way this could happen as I was never consulted for Responsives, and only Soft touch had been ordered
(This was still showing on MYA’s systems)

I then had to wait a further 6 days for someone to get in touch with me as this was how long it took to get my hospital notes to confirm what my paperwork said I had
Lo and behold it was confirmed by the clinical team that I actually had 470 responsives.
She said she has no idea how this has happened as Soft Touch had been ordered for me and had been received and signed for at Highgate 3 days prior –
As you can Imagine I immediately felt sick because, How, Why or Whos implants do I now have then? As they clearly werent mine!

The clinical team, PC or in fact anyone at MYA as of Friday still has no idea how I have been given these implants, All my paperwork and notes clearly stated I should have had Soft Touch!

This may seem minor to some, As apparently they are very similar – But there was a reason my surgeon refused to use these on me and to then have them without even being consulted i find shocking and a massive breach of trust!

Not only this as far as I’m concerned the Sticker Book I have been given Isn’t worth the paper its printed on as without actually cutting me open,
I’m not convinced anyone has a clue what implant I have or how do I even know in fact If I’ve been given the right size,
Because as far as I’m concerned if these Implants were checked properly at time of insertion then they would have known these were not the implants ordered for me or compatible with my notes!!!! (The reason for my post a few days back, When are the stickers put into our books)

Not only that I now have all the other problems to look forward to which was the Surgeons reason to point blank refuse responsives in the first place!

I’ve been told this is a completely isolated incident that has never happened before with an investigation currently taking place,
I however am not convinced – But I’m sure know this has been posted, It shall be deleted and I may receive a phone call with an explanation as I deserve – Not that it will mean anything as quite frankly my Trust is MYA has completely gone!

I can’t believe this, you must be so angry! I’m just checking my sticker now but ca t work out what it means?! Mine says N-TRX340 . . . Is that so get touch? X

And yes babes the more I wait with no answers the more pissed I get!
It shouldn’t matter whether Im happy with the results or not (Which so far I am) it shouldn’t have happened – Thats a lot of money and trust to be taking out of someones hands xx

But it’s the soft touch that are the more expensive isn’t it as the risk of capsular contractions lower? What are you going to so now? X

Yes they are both more expensive than CUI, With Soft Touch being more again and yes I was told less risk of rippling, CC and my surgeon just said he wouldn’t use them for me (Not in general)

So to now know I have them doesn’t fill me with joy!
I’m not for one minute putting people off Responsive’s as they are a fantastic product still and only 3% fill in it, So not even that much difference!
However for reasons explained to me they wasn’t suitable for my frame and build to get the best result and after paying just under £4k for a product and for something so invasive and important you would like to think you get what you pay for!! xx

Not only that, Its more the point THEY WEREN’T EVEN MINE!
They clearly didn’t have my name on the box or whatever they came in so why put them in me, Without checking first!

This is why I asked again the other day, If hospitals have a store room of Implants?>

Was mine not ordered properly?
Did they not arrive in time – So they pulled a pair from storage?
Were they ordered for someone else and their was a mix up?
Was Responsive’s ordered by Mistake instead of Soft Touch by MYA?
(This would have been the preferred explanation, Although still leaving me furious I wasn’t consulted first)

Its the whole ‘We dont know how this could have possibly happened” and then just leave me hanging in the lurch I find totally unacceptable and unforgiveable.
