I’ve never had surgery before and I’m quite an active person normally attending 3 – 5 classes per week, so naturally, I’ve become quite frustrated at feeling very unable to do these things (especially as I actually feel very well and was pain-free 5 days post op) I know I shouldn’t push it and I’m definitey not going to return to classes yet as I do aerial acrobatics which would be far too strenuous, but 2 weeks post-op I’m starting to feel a bit podgy and depressed (I exercise to help my anxiety and depression) is there anything anyone can recommend that I can do before the 6 week deadline? šŸ™ Could I perhaps cycle? Like a leisurely cycle not bmxing it through the woods haha I just really don’t do well with sitting still and eating out of boredom aha

Could you not go for a nice walk? I think that would be the most I would recommend.

Thatā€™s my plan anyway, I exercise around 4/5 days a week with weights. My plan is to go for gentle walks every other day from the second week.

Hi I’m 2 weeks post OP tomorrow and in the exact same. I used to crossfit 4-5 times a week!! This week I started walking doing around 3 miles per day at a steady pace. I dont think cycling would be good as you have to hold onto handles and I think that will impact the chest muscles? I found a routine that a fitness person posted following her BA. Next week I’m going back to work and will be using the work gym to do the stair master.

Lower non weighted exercises like lunges and squats should be ok as long as your balance is good. Obviously if anything feels wrong it probably is best to stop doing it xx

Hi, I might have been really wrong but I’m over 7 weeks po now and had two post OP checks and my boobs are ace (was a 32A…had 300cc…now a 30D). Anyway, week 3 I went back in the gym on the treadmill to do power walks on an incline and I held light hand weights. I did this in week 3 and 4. In week 5 I started lunges and squats again. By week 6 it felt comfortable to do crunches and planks, and I could run on the treadmill. Our bodies are all different so just test the water and stop anything that feels wrong xx

Hey Chloe, Iā€™ve been told that I can (leisurely) cycle after 3 weeks, as long as the saddle isnā€™t too high up so less pressure is going through the arms and chest. I have been told this by both surgeons and nurses x
