Hi girls, I’m just over 7 weeks and I am really struggling with the gym. I lift weights and I have just started my 2nd upper body work out with the lightest weights! It feels very strange and I can kind of feel the implant moving?
I know it takes time but is there anyone with unders who could advise when they could start lifting normal again?
I have tried running yet I’m too scared!! Xx
I’d love to know the answers to all of these too! I went for my 6 week post op app last week with the nurse. I haven’t fluffed yet so she said I could go back to gym but not lifting even light weights atm until things have softened up atleast! So haven’t bothered going back to the gym at all yet. Missing it so much 🙁
@stephcp did the nurse say anything to you about massaging them to help them fluff? She never mentioned it to me but Iv seen other girls got told to at their six week app so wasn’t sure whether to start trying it or not lol. Iv just started doing Pilates today to start off with until I find a supportive bra for any cardio xx
@stacey411 Hey hun, no she didn’t meantion it to me either! But it’s true seen a lot on here and one of my friends told me to do the same lol. She got special cream from her clinic to massage it in. But she said anything will work. Hers got soft so quick that way. I might give it another week and then run it by the nurse lol! Have you still not fluffed either? She told me to get the high supportive one from m&s for the gym? Xx
@stephcp yeah I was thinking of looking for her email address to mail her and ask. Na not really, they are getting a bit softer this week but she said they still have a lot of fluffing to do so not to wear under wire bras very often. I ordered one but I didn’t find it very supportive but I think it’s to big, going to go in on Saturday and try some on I think 🙂 xx
There are some great YouTube videos about this I’ve looked at. Generally looking at 6 months to a year before it’s more comfortable but by the looks of it may never be able to do press ups, pull ups or dead lifts as heavy as prior to op. This is what’s making me go for overs as I can’t imagine giving up training properly for such a long period
I had unders and feel really worried about getting back into gym!!! I’m 8wpo and have only been once as of yet!!
I used to do lots of weights beforehand but now even worried to start light ???? xx
If you do a lot of gym work and run a lot is it better to have unders to keep your new boobs in place? I am having overs two weeks today and it does worry me that even though I will be wearing the best sports bras I can find when I am able to exercise, that they will eventually go saggy because of the movement .
I’m 3 weeks post op, and dreading not being able to lift or do any of the stuff I used to be able to do!! Has anyone been able to train legs properly yet? I just can’t see me being able to do upper body properly for a longggggg time 🙁 I’ve only done an uphill walk on the treadmill this week as I’m still early days, grrr frustrating isn’t it x
At the moment I find it really tough to open an aircraft door at work. I have to really really put everything I have to open it. I can feel it in my muscles so much! Its an odd feeling! I went back to work 4 weeks post op and it was really tough so I can’t imagine how the gym is guna be. 7 weeks post op atm. Opening the door at work as me feeling like I’ve lost all my upper body strength or something lol. I think I will go back to gym in a few weeks when I’ve fluffed and just train legs for now. @butler91 Do you have any of the YouTube links or what did you type in to find them? I’d be interested to watch them 🙂 xx
Hi guys iv been doing spin but not using my arms at all, iv been power walking and doing the stairmaster but not gripping. If had 400cc overs and in almost 5 weeks post op… so far so good, boobs have been great
Oh I need to get back the gym I’m only 3dpo and it’s on my mind so much about getting back in the gym used to going at least 5 times a week and it’s not helping that my stomach is all swollen 🙁 hope it goes back to normal once I’m back to work and more mobile! Is uphill walk on treadmill safest to start with excersize? Xx
