Has anyone had a day case and went straight home instead of staying close???

I know MYA wants you to stay within an hour from hospital but want to know if anyone has just went home instead. i live 3 hours away from hospital and my friend isn’t able to stop the night as she’s driving my down.

I lived within the hour I think they just say that because you will feel ill from the anaesthetic and the nurses did check with me how far I would be going before letting me go xx

They do say you have to stay within the hour wether it’s your house, someone else’s or a hotel. Not sure if they require proof though..

I guess as long as it goes well there would be no issue but if you were ill and had any post op problems they could then stipulate what the written guidelines were about staying close. However, if you have no one to stay with you even if you were close that doesn’t seem advisable either

Ive had 2 ops now with mya. First time in manchestwr which was 3 hours and second in london which is 2 hours. Went straight home both times. Xx

yeah mandy thats right, and thanks alex if i feel well i shall be going straight home 🙂

for me theres no place id rather be than in my own bed that evening (if everything goes well)

yeah same, id rather get the long drive out of the way straight away
