I don’t know what to do! As the operation would be done at Highgate, but my mum won’t drive to London she is the most nervy driver ever! Did everyone else get lifts home or did they stay at like a hotel or something? Any help would be great x
I would like to no this to? Do mya do transport if you can’t get down to your op?? Xx
Well at my consultation yesterday she didn’t say they do transport, but I know my mum won’t drive and I definitely can’t get a train after! Would you have to go to Highgate as well?x
Yes I think high gate is the closest to me too.. Wish they was a hospital abit closer seems so far to travel and my mums abit like yours by the sound of it.. She wouldn’t won’t to drive all the way down there with her not being a confident driver that’s why I was asking if they did transport if not guess it would be a hotel stay down therefor another night and then the train back the next day xx
The advise you if you don’t stay at hospital to stay at a hotel overnight near by incase you have to go back in (emergency). As far as I’m aware they don’t do transport & they so advise to stay away from trains, buses etc.. Can another relative or friend take you? xx
Yeah it’s really annoying I was a bit silly and thought the operation would be done at the clinic I had the consultation! But yes I’m going to have to book a hotel and get a train the next day!xx
Yes I might have to see if my friend will take me!xx
You can pay more to be picked up from your house stay overnight and then they bring you back but it was guna be another £500
For me xx
Yes I know! I mean London isn’t far from me at all, I live in Essex, but my mum is adamant she is not driving into London. To be fair London can be a nightmare driving! Are you far from London Georgina?xx
Ooo thanks for that Laura! Is that for all clinics do you know?xx
I’m about 3/4 hours away from London I would be best catching a train down there and staying in a hotel! I live near a place called Doncaster? My closes clinic would be Nottingham and then Birmingham.. Nottingham is about an hour away from me and then Birmingham is about a hour and a half! So I’m quite far 🙁 I’m trying to look if there’s any closer to me xxx
it could be about £200 just for them to drive u home. maybe taxi would do it cheaper. I wouldnt recommend the train. I had to go back to highgate for my 1 wk post op app. I live in sussex, so I took train straight to london bridge and then went on the northen line to highgate. I was soo tired and felt dizzy (which u do cause u taking all the meds). what if u dont get a seat? or if somebody lands on ur chest when the train stops? 🙂
Yea I think so maybe just enquire if it’s not that far I’m staying Overnight in a hotel I’m from sunderland and op in Preston xx
Oh Georgina that is far I don’t blame you! Yes see if there is anyway they can do it closer! Yes Polina that’s what I’m thinking now getting a taxi, mums friend has a taxi firm, so hopefully be able to get a cheaper deal!xx
MYA do transport I think, but you’ll need to ask them for a cost x
Im travelling to Highgate from the north west on the train (2.5hrs) and staying over at Euston Travellodge (so I don;t have to brave the tube post op). I will get taxi there and back from hpsital as it is less than 3 miles away. I will be getting the train back the next day as it is better than sitting in a car stopping and starting for 5 hours. I’m only worried about folk staring at me -as I’m having rhino – so will have a huge cast on my face! x
