I have my op booked not till May at high gate for a Friday..I’m worried as I’m from Norfolk which is about an hour and a half away.. Is high gate in a busy part of London? Worried it will be too busy to drive there so someone wasn’t be able to pick me up? Also if so done came with me and waited how long will they be waiting? Also read you can’t use public transport so the train and tube is out of the question? Any suggestions would be great 🙂

I was an overnight stay but my admission time was 11.30 and op was at 2.30. I rekon I would have been able to go home about 6/7 as I had food and that by then.

I drove to Highgate from down south it wasn’t far off the motorway and easy to get to – I had no problems and after 12 you can park on the road outside the hospital so no issue parking I arrived at 12.30 and left at 8.30 and traffic wasn’t an issue at all. Xx

Have a look on google maps and pick a route that goes round London rather than through – that’s what I did 🙂 good luck Hun! Xx

no its outside of London, not central, and its on a private road – I had no trouble getting there late morning on a sunday. Also my boyfriend and mum came and stayed the whole day, my admission was 11:30, I went down at 1, back around half 2 and stayed till 8 so they were there about 8 hours but they said it went quite fast as I was in and out etc, my boyfriend had to go on a walk though as he got bored haha ! little heads up, if people are coming to stay with you then tell them to bring food – we didn’t, and my mum and boyf ordered a sandwich and it was 7 quid for a tiny sandwich hahaha! xxx
