I’ve got my surgery booked for 19th July and i’m really struggling with stopping smoking. I’ve cut right down but can’t kick those last few a day.
Anyone else struggling with this? Or not quit before your op?
My nurse said I was doing really well with what doing and that if I couldn’t stop altogether it is my risk but i’ve read so much about people possibly having surgery cancelled if they hadn’t stopped. Is that true?
Mr Traynor even said to me I didnt need to, it helps but not a necessity were his words.

    Hi,
I was the same, I really struggled to stop smoking! I bought myself a vape used that for a few days using the lowest nicotine liquid they sold! Didn’t smoke the morning of surgery as I was in first thing, didn’t smoke all that day or the day after as all I did was sleep. I then started to smoke half a cigarette at a time and now 13days post op I’m back to smoke as I did before!! It is hard, but I’m healing really well so the nurse told me on Friday. I think cutting down is good enough, don’t stress about it to much! We haven’t been the only ones on here who haven’t stopped. I’ve seen a post on here with a girl saying she smoked just before she went down for surgery.. xx

Thanks Vicki. I’m starting to stress about it and it’s making me want to smoke more.
I just don’t want to get to Preston and they turn around and say no I can’t have it done.
I have a vape to and been using a bit of both I just can’t seem to quit the real ones. Sounds so sad but it’s so addictive.
Who was your surgeon Hun xxx
