Hi everyone,
Having breast augmentation + uplift on Sep 11th, I am 20 years old, reason for getting surgery is I’ve had a 6st weight loss, I was a busty D/DD cup before but now my breast cups are empty, loose and sags. Had my first consultation in March/April, I met with my surgeon and decided on size, went over all info, need to knows and so forth… I will be awake for op, booked 7 days off of work, I am office based so.
I’ve read through some of the forum posts and here is what I’ve gathered so far…
Macom and M&S bras are best post op bras, high impact is recommended.
Get zip and button up tops, easy to put on.
You can go bra-less around 4-6 weeks, but still need a form of support till around 12 weeks.
Need a MRSA swab – this hasn’t been mentioned to me yet, I’m going to call up and see if I can go to get this done as soon as possible so if there’s any problems I can hopefully get sorted before op instead of postponing.
No driving recommended 14 days.
Ladies… advice on gym use? I go daily, 20/30 minutes off cross runner machine followed by weights, deadlifting and so on. How limited will I be?
Can anyone else give their advice, any other info or tips I may need to know? I’m pretty calm right now about this whole thing but I know as it gets nearer the time I am going to be a nervous wreck!
We’re the same date 🙂 which hospital you going to?xx
MRSA swab is done at your pre op assessment with the nurse.
As for the gym I go daily as well, and have been advised to have 6 weeks off weights (it’s going to kill me! Haha) but I intend to go back after 4 weeks and start light cardio x
Hey Hun,
same date also, I’m at Fitzroy. Sounds like you’ve prepped a lot but don’t worry to much as all of this is explained at your Pre -op with your nurse and you get paperwork ( you will also get your MRSA swab done and potentially blood tests then too) so if your concerned book your pre op with plenty of time before your actual op.
With regards to gym, its recommended that you do not do anything more than walking for first 6 weeks, and then start again like a beginner. You also don’t want to be doing anything that will cause you to sweat whist your scars are still healing as this can interfere with the process.
You’ll also be sleeping at a 45degree angle for at least the first 2 weeks ideally, so may want to invest in a V pillow / Batwing pillow.
My nurse also recommended having some senna to hand as the medication can cause a lot of bloat / constipation.
🙂 xx
I wouldn’t go bra less at all before 6 weeks becoause internally u may not be fully healed but ideally I’d wear a bra for a few months, and continue to wear your sports bra to bed for up to a year, the more careful you are the less likely of complications, same with the gym stay away for 6weeks, if u need to exercise maybe walking or just lower body until the 6weeks and start of as if ur new to the gym xx
I’m not having my surgery with MYA, I’m having my surgery with LINIA, a family friend recommended them. I’m staying awake for the op :l x

Okay then, I’m going to struggle ahaha ive actually done a gym challenge leading up to op, hoping to get most of the weight off as possible – Ive been told you cant lose more than a stone once op is done as this can reverse the op as well x
@laultaylor Can I ask why you’re staying awake for surgery honey? I’m just curious!! Do you have a reaction to General Anesthetic?
xxx
@xmaspuds my surgeon specialises in doing surgery awake, I’m not sure why maybe that’s what he prefers… it also works out cheaper as well, I didn’t know with most cosmetic or private surgeries if you stay awake its cheaper as no need for Anesthetic and the person who does it x
